I was among the few social media aficionados on board Empress this past weekend. Thought I'd share some photos, cruise compasses and answer any questions about Empress.

Ok, I'm ready to post some photos.

 

So at first, I was a little nervous sailing on Empress with all the negativity when she came back to RCI. I did notice the reviews got better in time but I was still nervous. When I got on board all of my fears went away. Everything felt so fresh and clean. I felt like I stepped on board a brand new ship. There were some areas of wear but not really a big deal, at least not to me (I've sailed on Majesty several times).

 

I really have very few complaints about Empress. She may not have all the bells and whistles that the newer ships but she's got it where it counts.

So my friend and I had a Junior Suite on deck 9. The cabin IS small for a Junior Suite. It's really more like a standard balcony. That being said, we were very comfortable in the room. I slept on the bed, my friend slept on the pull out sofa. The room had plenty of storage space, a semi-walkin closet and an adequate bathroom. Our cabin WAS noisy, especially during the white hot party on the pool deck (which eventually moves to the viking crown)
