Casino Ultra Premier Change for 2017--Head's Up

So the Ultra Premier invitations have already gone out for 2016. So I'm NOT referring to that.

For qualifying for the 2017 Ultra Premier invitations I today noticed a change. Today in snail mail, I got my first Premier cruise offer beyond the sailings that might qualify me for an Ultra Premier offer this year. Different from the past Premier cruises that participation in would qualify me for 2016 Ultra, the current Premier offer states that in addition to booking and participating in a Premier cruise, to qualify for a 2017 Ultra Premier cruise, not only do I have to book a future Premier cruise, I have to book that Premier offer AND earn 7,500 points on that Premier cruise in order to qualify for 2017 Ultra Premier cruises.

So head's up to those like me who have enjoyed Ultra Premier cruises in the past. The stakes are higher to qualify for a 2017 Ultra Premier cruise.

I did not receive a 2016 Ultra offer either. I'm going on my 4th Premier in just under 2 years on 10/30. I did notice that blurb about the points and casino cash on the latest "regular" Premier offer (book by 9/7/16 offer, which I'm not using).

The two Ultra offers I did receive in the past were for sailings that just happened to be AT THE SAME TIME as the Premier I was taking! Couldn't change because I already had my airfare booked. How silly was that to make the Ultra conflict with a regular? :(

I've never, ever racked up 7,500 points in a 12-month period, let alone on one sailing, so I probably won't receive another Ultra offer and possibly no more Premier offers.

Oh well. I've enjoyed my Premier cruises and although my offers (PC4) were only a discounted fare (nowhere near being free) plus $300 casino cash, I was happy to take advantage of them.

I booked a Premier cruise for next January when I first saw the offer online in my VIFP offers. I was unaware at that time about the new language about needing 7,500 points to qualify for Ultra 2017. I learned about the 7,500 points when I got the invitation in snail mail, after I'd already made the booking. I'm considering cancelling the January Premier cruise. Final payment isn't due until November. I mostly booked the Premier cruise to qualify for the 2017 Ultra Premier. I wouldn't earn 7,500 points in one sailing.

We have our first premier cruise booked for 6/17/17 and yesterday already received an invite for the Ultra cruises going in Nov/Dec 2017 under my VIFP offers. Just booked the Ultra for Nov, so not sure why they say you have to have 7500 points on the premier to be invited. I had read that also, but obviously isn't true.

Agree the 7500 point requirement on a Premier was misleading. We have not been on a Premier or Ultra since 2015. We did book a Premier for 9/2/2017 and have racked up points throughout the year on table games (never actually know how many) and got the Ultra invite...booked the Vista for 12/16/2017.

Cheers, good luck and happy cruising.

I just booked my first Ultra on the Freedom December 9, 2017. I didn't think I would get the offer, I did 3 premiers in November, January and March and did not get 7500 pts on any of them, the most points I got was a little over 5000 in November. Also my cash was the same as in the premiers, so I'm a happy cruiser....lol

So how much do the Premier cruises usually cost to book? I hit around 13000 on my last cruise plus whatever my table play was. I assume I'll get one of these sent to me at some point whenever the offers come around. I'm pretty happy with the bounce back offers though, between my siblings and I, I can pretty much get on a cruise every couple months for under $200 plus whatever it costs me to get there.

Hopefully you’ll get a Free inside at least with your points

I was getting a free ocean view for years but the offers have gotten worse

You can also contact the Ocean Players club and give them your info and ask them what you’ll qualify for....I did this for my Mother in Law last year and they emailed me back she’d get the free drink card and $250 cash on her next cruise. She was really surprised

Also make sure on the Carnival site you’re logged in and your VIFFP IS up to date and you have it so you accept offers and notifications

And lastly if you’re on FB Join the Carnival Casino Players Group.....Lots of great people and info there......The newest premier offers are coming out this week by the way. Supposedly on Nov 7th

No Problem. New premier offers came out today.....Check your VIFP offers on the Carnival website

Also here’s the ocean players Casino info. oceanplayersclub.com

There’s a place on it to contact them. You then put in your name, DOB, VIFP # and a booking number of u already have a cruise booked.

U can ask them based on your last cruise on X ship u had 13,000 points and would like to know if u qualify for any comps. For sure u automatically get the drink card day 1 on your next cruise. And u should have $$$$ coming. Good Luck

I just want to mention the language on my recent premier cruise offer brochures has changed from last year (since this was an older thread revived). My recent premier offers state, "Join us on a premier cruise setting sail between December 1, 2017 and April 30, 2018, and you'll be qualified for an invite-only Fall 2018 ultra premier cruise." And then it goes on say, "Earn 7,500 points in the casino on one of these premier cruises, and you'll receive first access to book one of our Fall 2018 ultra premier cruises."

So interpret that new language as you choose.

And with that changed language, the fine print that states you have to earn those 7,500 points on a Premier Cruise of 6 days or longer. Wish I'd seen that before I earned 8,000 points plus on the 4-night Premier Getaway we did last month.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I've never done a shorter premier cruise. Transparency is a good thing and I'm sure others interested in qualifying for an ultra cruise can benefit from you sharing that information.
