Wine On Premium Package

Found lots of lists for all the liquors and beers on the Premium Package, very little on wine. Can any recent cruisers please tell me what kinds of wine they are offering currently. Appreciate your input, thanks :D

Wines change on a sailing-by-sailing basis and there is absolutely no guarantee any particular wine anyone tells you about now will be on any future sailing.

gergles is correct. We have found that the wines change from ship to ship and also by where the ship is sailing.

 

Even some of the wines that are printed on the wine list are not always available. We have never had a problem getting a wine we enjoy. If our preferred wine isn't available the sommelier also finds a nice wine for us.

Totally agree with Jelayne. On our first cruise with a premium package we would ask for the wine list (lots of different venues) and then be told the wine we selected was not available...we soon learned to 'go with the flow' explained we liked fruity reds but we're open to suggestions and have not looked back.

 

In the days pre packages we would stick with buying wines we knew rather than risk a possible poor choice. Now we enjoy experimenting more, knowing if we do not like we just choose another...it really has added another dimension to our cruising pleasure. Also the fact if you choose a more expensive wine, you just pay the extra is another bonus.

Having access to Michaels is the cats meow! Tell them what you like, they will make it happen, no Bev pkg comes into play.

You don't mention what ship you are on. If it has Cellar Master's that is our go to place. If you are on a ship that doesn't have Cellar Masters we find some good choices at the Ensemble Lounge. We've politely asked and sometimes they will even stock a wine from another bar/restaurant for us. Never hurts to ask.

 

As gergles says, the wine selection changes. If you have something you like just ask... they might have it or something similar.

Let Michael's bar staff know your preferred wine and if there is some on the ship they will keep a bottle behind the bar for you...better still let them know the type of wine you like and trust their judgment, you will not regret it...

 

We have also found the speciality restaurants excellent at providing good wine choices, Luminae a bit more hit and miss, mainly I think because the sommelier there can be very busy.

You don't mention what ship you are on.r.

 

The Silhouette :o but the key is being in a suite with access to Michaels where the bar is open and covered for them. All tho Cellar Masters, which has yet to be changed on the Silhouette, is the wine bar, Michaels offers much more.
