1$t Time Posted August 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) Hello, Excuse this novice question. I just thought it would be easier to apply my gift cards to my onboard account than to try and keep track of how much I have left on each individual card. Thanks in Advance Julien Edited August 8, 2016 by 1$t Time
BeachLoverstoo Posted August 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Yes, we went to Guest Services because there was no line, but I think you can DIY at one of the kiosks in the lobby/atrium. We already had some OBC, but with the addition of the cards our final bill was under $10.
TrqoisWtrs Posted August 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Yes you can, but you can't do it until you are onboard and go to Customer Service or use one of the free-standing kiosks. At Customer Service they will just scan your card and apply, no need to keep track of what is on each, unless you want to make sure you are getting the correct amount of credit. Not sure how it works at the kiosk. I have never done it there.
tekman26 Posted August 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Hello,Excuse this novice question. I just thought it would be easier to apply my gift cards to my onboard account than to try and keep track of how much I have left on each individual card. Thanks in Advance Julien My DW and I will by gift cards every 2 weeks up till we leave on the cruise and when we get on the ship we add all of them to the sail and sign card. If at the end of the cruise we have anything really large left I will take this out from the casino. Makes it a lot easier than trying to figure out what is on each card. firemanbobswife Posted August 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 8, 2016 If you're cruising out of Miami they can also apply them at check in before you get on the ship.
FTLCruiseGal Posted August 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2016 Just a heads up -- I tried to use the kiosk to swipe my gift cards, and it wouldn't work. When I went to Guest Services, she told me that you cannot use the gift cards at the kiosk and have to go to them. I don't know if anyone else has been able to do so, but just don't be surprised if it doesn't work. This may be one of those situations where one Carnival person tells you one thing and you get a different answer from someone else.

There's another thread on here and quite a few of us have in fact used the kiosks to apply gift cards. However I had to manually enter the numbers. Sliding the card didn't work. As far as signing for them, when I applied them at GS, the credit card looking machine asked if I wanted a receipt each time one was added. I selected yes and had to sign. But I could have just as easily selected no. So I don't buy the story that lady gave you. Edited August 8, 2016 by firemanbobswife

Thanks in Advance Julien I thought the only way to use them on the ship was to apply them to your on board account. You use your Sail & Sign pass to pay for everything, I didn't think you could just hand over a gift card to the bar or ships store. cherbear4000 Posted August 9, 2016 #12 Share Posted August 9, 2016 I always add mine at the kiosks toward the end of the cruise. I usually by e-cards online so I have to manually enter the numbers at the kiosks. I have never had an issue.

No other forms of payment are accepted.
