Bringing wine on board

I know the rule is two bottles per stateroom. But is this two bottles per day? And let's Say you didn't want to bring wine from home on board, but wanted to wait until you were at a port to buy a local wine, would you be allowed to bring that wine onboard if you didn't bring any on from day one? How do they enforce this?

Any wine brought on in port is kept and given back on the last day of the cruise. 2 bottles may be brought on at embarkation only.

2 bottles per stateroom for entire cruise. They'll hold your port wine purchase until the end.
