Received our JUNE Carnival Club newsletter via email yesterday (yes, you read that right--it said JUNE) and it shows these visors as the newest Platinum/Diamond gift.

So I'm not the only one. Just a lowly Gold here, but I, too, just received my June VIFP Connection Newsletter (email) last night.:p

Either the person making this choice at CCL is brain dead or this is designed to get lost of complaints to give them a reason to stop the free gifts.

If you don't receive the newsletter check your contact settings.

I've just double checked it. All filled out correctly with my email address. Has been for years. In fact, DH's login has email only (our home email, which I check). My login reflects both snail mail and email. Never received a newsletter.

Crazy.... I got the same email as everyone else yesterday.

How often do they change what the gift is?

Not sure there's a set schedule. In June on the Pride we received the packing cubes - which we exchanged for the VIFP Tervis tumblers. After we returned I saw the "new" Tervis tumblers and assumed we see those in September. Guess not... [emoji21]

I can only imagine how hot those things are in the Caribbean. I am going to be pretty disappointed if that is my first Platinum gift. What The Freak were they thinking?!

ME too! Looks like I have croc-luck. Hope I do better in the casino than with turning Platinum. I looked forward to Diamond on RCI much more...$200 balcony discount.

Oh well. Guess we'll just have to go with the flow. Really hoping they still have the Tervis tumblers as that is something I will really use. If not, I'm sure some kid will like the visor. That's a nice discount, BTW.

I have a feeling I'll be going back to Celebrity in the next year or so.

Used to be every year or two (picture frames went on for years) but now every few months. Seems like tumblers were only for a month or two.

We got packing cubes in May, than they switched to tumblers and already switched again.

That's what mine said when I got it today, too! I couldn't figure out how that could be! I mean, it is the end of August isn't it? [emoji6]

I got insulated tumblers twice . . . a nice gift actually. Broke one' date=' but use the last one every day. Really keeps an ice drink cool with no precipitation.

I had so many picture frames I gave several away. Still run across one every now and then when I'm in packing boxes looking for something.:)

The [b']best gift[/b] was an over the shoulder carryon/half-backpack thingy . . . still use it today; carries camera, tablet, phone, and all sorts of miscellaneous gear for a port jaunt, or a hike along the river.

Someone in a group I'm in stated that they just got these on their cruise. They said that they are very light weight and believe it or not, are cool. (I think they were talking about temperature, not appearance.) They really like them.

Imagine you being the calming force on a thread..... You made my day!

I was cleaning out a closet yesterday and counted six chess sets, lol! I have no idea how many tumblers we have at this point, but it's a lot. I think the most important thing that they should consider when choosing a "gift" is the weight and space that is used when you pack it up. I'm not really a visor type, but I do like the idea that they're basically weightless. When we drive to Baltimore it's no big deal, but when we fly I could see me leaving some of the gifts behind.

Will trade you 2 journals, 4 picture frames and a visor to be given later for 4 chess sets:)
