Interested in booking a trans pacific cruise to Hawaii but worried about rough seas. Is there an ideal time to go? Hurricanes in the summer, storms in the winter. Spring? November/December?

Welcoming all advise!

Some research on the West Coast Departures board, here:

and the Hawaii board, here:

would reveal, while the seas can't be predicted- particularly for a "when is it calmest" concept, there is likely roughness the first 36-48 hours out of the West Coast, and the last 36-48 hours coming back.

Pacific is a bit of a misnomer. It was just peaceful after what Magellan went thru under South America.

Even at its calmest, the ship can have a small roll. Onboard it's easy to pick out the regular Caribbean cruiser v the regular Pacific (West Coast) cruiser. Bring the remedy of choice onboard.

Thanks.

Sounds similar to mid-atlantic sailings from NJ to Caribbean in January/February. First 36-48 and last 36-48 are typically no-sleep nights for me but not bothered by sea sickness.

and Thanks for the referrals to proper boards for more info.

:D
