FTTF price rising

I don't like it, but I can't blame them. It's a popular item, so why not try to get as much as they can for it. If we were in their shoes, I'm sure we'd do the same. I'm NOT sure, though, if I'd buy it at these prices.

From the Brand Ambassador:

$49.95 USD 2 day and 3 day cruises

$49.95 USD 4 day cruises (excluding Carnival Liberty, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Victory)

$59.95 USD 4 day cruises (Carnival Liberty, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Victory)

$69.95 USD 5 day cruises (excluding Carnival Sensation and Carnival Victory)

$59.95 USD 5 day cruises (Carnival Sensation and Carnival Victory)

$69.95 USD 6 day and 7 day cruises

$79.95 USD 8 day and longer cruises

I think you just need to decide it it's worth it to you personally. At a port like Port Everglades or Miami, I would want it. I think it's also worth it for itineraries with tender ports.

It's really a convenience thing and the entertainment industry as a whole seems to be going with it whether it's fast passes at amusement parks or perks at a performance.

At least it's not like Cheers where everyone in the cabin needs to buy it!

It kinda irritates me that they just cheapened my purchase, I bought it with the understanding it would be very limited, sure I bought it was 59 vs $79, what is next? Just add more for $109?

Heck for $1009 you can get a personal escort from the CD on the day of the cruise.

Some times it is NOT about the money, it is what you promised your customers.

I guess it's your interpretation of what constitues "very limited"....in the future, save your $$$$ so you aren't irritated

Do we know the numbers sold before and the numbers sold now? if the money was used to provide more staff members it is possible they are still providing the same value to guests. Don't know, am asking.

There was 15 available when I got 2 for me and my friend over 500 days from cruising, now you log on there is 20 more available. So they added 20 more for sure. With still over 460 days away from sailing.

When I bought mine they sold out in less than 6 hours. Now it seems you can just pony up more money and get some. When will it end? Like I said pay 1k the day you leave and I am sure they will personally escort you.

I don't think that is the case. Fttf is sold out on my upcoming cruise. I see the price went up from $59 to $79 but it is still sold out. So I don't think the rise in the price means they're adding more than they would have before. It just so happens that your cruise still has slots and they're now $$$

They already added more, there was 15 released I got 2 of them, now there is 20 more on the same exact cruise. The 15 were sold out with in hours of release. So yes they did add more. They never had 20 on the initial release and since I own 2 of them that leaves 13 IF everyone gave them back which is slim to none that would mean there should only be 13 available.

Ah, the first of many announcements. They hit us with the price increase for FTTF and then they give us great, exciting, wonderful news, like what does enhanced turn down service for the suites mean. Then it's time for more bad news, like a change in the VIFP loyalty program, like spend more on board and we will make you Platinum or Diamond. They will probably move people to lower VIFP levels again, oh well, it was nice being Platinum for a while. Twelve Carnival Cruises and 17 years of loyalty. Can't wait to see what the next terrific, exciting, wonderful announcement will be, FFS.

Why are you assuming that it's 15 TOTAL for the entire cruise. Carnival may like to stagger it's FTTF offerings. Worry about what you have and not what everyone else has or doesn't have. You got your FTTF and all the perks that go with it. Why do you seem so concerned with hoping they limit it to other people? Are you one of those people that takes a perverse pleasure with the mindset of "Oh goodie, I got something good, I don't want anyone else to get it....hehehehe"

Glad I got ours when I booked, $59 for 8 day. Next cruise is with Princess and their rooms are always ready when boarding for no extra charge. Will have to rethink next time I book Carnival.

Because I'm sure the same cruise on Princess is only $100 more for everyone in your cabin.

Yes I am one of those people, I am disabled that can not stand more than 3 minutes without being on the verge of passing out in pain. I have a mobility scooter that is waiting for me in my cabin that I need to function on a huge ship. I could not even make it to my cabin without a wheel chair. I have only half of my lungs left, bad hips, bad legs from the massive amounts of steroids I was on for 3 years to keep my lungs functioning.

Yes all I can say is nan-nan I got one and you did not to all the schmucks who can stand, walk and talk at the same time. How selfish can I be right?

Now I have to bloody stand in line to be in the FTTF row. Yes I am very selfish and self centered.

My condolences your health is bad, but that is besides the point. You got FTTF, you will get priority boarding, special lines, etc. if you need assistance boarding due to being disabled, I am sure Carnival makes some accommodations. In all fairness why should Carnival base the FTTF number on what YOU deem is too many?

Being disabled is what a person can do not what they can't do, now if I had my scooter I would have 0 problem being the last person on board. I don't care to exploit a disability and demand I must get on board now! Where others would in a heart beat, if I buy a FTTF sticker I paid for the service to not be in pain or pass out. I bought one for my friend as well she has her own power chair but it would not be nice to make her wait while I am on board for hours. Again we both could have played the oh-woe is me card but why? I am not that kind of person.

Now if I was unable to obtain one, it would be me that would pay the $1009 for one if it meant I did not pass out on my way to the front of the line. Just the way I am and I know my pain tolerance.

On my last cruise, never did I think I was entitled to special perks or privileges, even on elevators, if a family was there first I will not just speed ahead of them to get on. I will wait, its not like I am going to starve or have no seat for a show lol.

I was told there was only 15 FTTF being sold for that cruise, now its 35. How much more? 100? 2k? Just feel like it was cheapened with more money. The money is not even the issue, its the perk. To increase it is one thing, but to raise the price and add more is no longer exclusive privilege.

Because I'm sure the same cruise on Princess is only $100 more for everyone in your cabin.

Actually no, we paid less for our last 10 cruise in a premium balcony on a new ship then we are paying for our 8 day in an aft wrap on an old ship on Carnival. Just got to watch the sales.

Carnival has ALWAYS offered these more than once. They open up a certain number initially - then, using some algorithm unbeknownst to us they decide to offer more at a certain time based on how many Plats & Diamonds have booked. For a cruise over a year away, this will probably not be the last batch that is offered (unless the ship is stacked with the aforementioned Plats & Diamonds).

I also know that it is not limited to 15. On our last cruise they offered FTTF for at least a second time about 8 weeks before sailing. At the time I saw it available there were 82 available. 82!

I purchased 1 and all I can say is when we got to the terminal it seemed as if everyone had FTTF. There were several hundred people with that FTTF logo luggage tag on their carry on bags. And I don't mean outside the terminal, this was inside the terminal. It did not include the Diamond/Platinum/Suites people as they were in a totally different location. We did not see those passengers until they were being escorted to the boarding area.

Our boarding was delayed until 1PM and they had been checking people in since 10AM. It was a crowded terminal, so I had a good idea of how many people had FTTF.

Folks, an increase in price is usually based on supply and demand. Carnival does not want to dilute the value that FTTF provides, and they can only provide so many per cruise. If they sold too many against the platinum / diamonds boarding, it would be too problematic for the crew. The result: Not as "fast".

You folks demand it, and there is limited supply, so the price goes up in order to keep demand in line with the supply.

Is this concept lost on anyone?

Why even bother with CCL then? You say that are going to start looking at Princess because FTTF went up $30, but you are already going on Princess because it's cheaper for a newer ship with a nicer cabin. Just go on Princess and be done with it.

Pilot to ATC....

Princess is more upscale to Carnival. Price aside, they might love it or hate it.

Or, if they love Princess, the now-retired Bob Dickinson would love it. They are moving up the food chain of cruise lines, as more new cruiser "plankton" is fed into Carnival, and others move up the ladder.

Of course you and every other experienced Carnival cruiser knows who Bob Dickinson is?
