Curious about the Empress.

 

Hoping someone can tell me if the Internet package is quick and what it costs.

 

Ocean view cabins temperature. Was it stuffy? Will I need a fan?

 

I would be happy to see anything about the Empress :)

Internet is $13 per day for surf and $18 per day for stream. You may be able to get it cheaper pre-cruise, check your Cruise Planner.

Just off of Empress on 8/29 after a short 4 night sailing. We had a JS, and the cabin was comfortable and we were able to adjust the thermostat effectively. Keep in mind that the thermostat is in Celsius readings (at least that is what it seemed). We kept our thermostat at about the 22 degree marking, which would be about 72 degrees Fahrenheit and we were fine.

 

As Diamonds we did use our Free Internet, it seemed fine for checking on what we needed to check....email and the weather.

I know there have been a lot of complaints about the air-conditioning in the cabins. When we were in our cabin and realized that the thermostat seemed to be in Celsius, we thought that perhaps previous cruisers did not realize that it was Celsius not Fahrenheit.

Ugh, we just booked Empress and I HAVE to have a cool room - need that AC. It will ruin the trip so wondering if I should cancel.

How cool is subjective. Suggest you start a new thread asking about others' cooling experience. Seems it is critical for your enjoyment.

I was on Empress a few weeks ago, and no one on that sailing that I interacted with complained about the AC in their room. Plenty of people felt the casino was too warm....they had portable AC units at work in the casino.

I had an oceanview room in June & it was very cool - almost too cold - despite 90+ degree heat every day. Agree that the Casino was warm, but tolerable with the portable fans.
