Mini Bar & Premium Beverage Package

I'm reading Facebook and on the Eclipse if you have a premium beverage package, the mini bar is included. This would be wonderful if it was true for the entire fleet. Often a quiet drink in your cabin and not in a bar is wonderful. Sailing on the Constellation soon. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, I would always, always purchase the premium package.:)

Here is the thread here on the Celebrity board started by a member currently on board the Eclipse and comments from 2-3 others also on board, the mini has been included if you have a Premium bev pkg.

We have a friend on board that has told us that it has been extended to them too.

I understood that thread to mean the minibar was included for that voyage only as a perk since they hit such bad weather, it was not a permanent option or a change to the beverage package - is that correct?

Our friend said the weather has been wonderful, and no issues with the ship or staff. Not sure why they gave given them this perk.

We were on the Eclipse 8/26-9/3 Norwegian Fjords sailing. Upon ordering our first drink with the classic pkg, we were told that we could upgrade to the premium pkg and that it would include the mini bar in our stateroom. He stated they tried this on the previous sailing and that it worked well so they were extending it to our sailing. BTW - we had really good weather on our entire cruise.

We were already planning to upgrade to premium and the addition of the mini bar on our cruise was really nice!

Ive read about this on another thread. Just a shame that I upgrade to the Premium Alcohol package and my OH downgrades the Classic Perk package to the Premium Non Alcohol package as he doesn't drink alcohol. Result, neither of us can use the free minibar.

We have the premium beverage package and are in a Sky Suite on the Reflection in March. If we want an included drink in the suite, what are our options? Room service included? Mini-bar included? Other options? If we have to order it via room service, how long should we expect to wait and is there a delivery charge or added tip?

And what about water or soft drinks in the suites.

Finally we get a free bottle of sparkling wine with the suite. Can that be taken to the dining room without incurring a fee?

Only Royal Suites and higher have mini-bar included. Room service is not included; you'd have to obtain a drink at a bar and bring it to your suite if you do not want to incur a charge. Yes, you can take the bottle of sparkling wine included in your suite to a dining room without being assessed corkage fees. Other than the sparkling wine, the only other drinks included in your suite are two bottles of water on embarkation day - other waters/sodas you'd have to obtain at a bar and bring to your suite.

This information is taken from the Celebrity website page explaining the various drink packages....

Use your Beverage Package many places on board

Your package can be used many places on the ship—in the Main Restaurant, any specialty restaurant, the casual dining restaurants and buffet, plus all bars and lounges. Beverage packages cannot be used at the in-stateroom mini bar, through Room Service, or at the Enomatic® wine-dispensing system in Cellar Masters.

In addition, this is taken from the pdf explaining certain perks of suite class cabins.....

Which stateroom categories receive complimentary daily stocked mini bar of beer, soda, and water?

Signature Suites, Royal Suites, Penthouse Suites, and Reflection Suites receive this benefit. It is not applicable for other categories

It's possible that things have changed, but on our cruise in August aboard the Summit, my family was in the PH, which did include the mini-bar, while other members of my family where in a Sky Suite and were told that it was not for their class of cabin.

Ok, to clarify, in late August on Eclipse, those with the premium drinks package could access the mini bar for free. It lasted two cruises. We boarded on the first cruise after they stopped it, even though when we boarded the staff were promoting an upgrade to the premium package that includes the minibar. Led to some initial issues but clearly it was a trial that didn't go well.
