hawkeyetlse Posted September 17, 2016 #26 Share Posted September 17, 2016 I booked a guarantee cabin as it was all that was available on the sold out Epic and got the SDP promotion. Booked in August 2016 so maybe this has changed. It has not changed. You must have booked a higher inside category. Only IX is excluded from the promo; the other inside categories get one perk, even if they are booked as guarantees. (Or maybe you booked a studio, which also comes with one perk, even as a guarantee.) You can check your stateroom category on your booking confirmation or in your Vacation Summary. CaffinatedSwan Posted September 20, 2016 Author #27 Share Posted September 20, 2016 HI All! A belated thank you for all of your advice, especially those who were kind and not overly critical. I wasn't familiar with the Upsell department, so after doing a little more research, I found the number and.... BOOM! Spectacular upsell was offered. Apparently there was some sort of note on my acct... anyway, that's what my TA told me. Booked into an H4 and couldn't be happier. Got to keep my original dining and beverage plans, but do not get the normal Haven WIFI. OH well. Maybe that means my husband will work less! Rigby the Dog Posted September 28, 2016 #30 Share Posted September 28, 2016 If you have a certificate from a casino offer you don't need really the UBP as there will be a casino drink card in your room where you can get drinks for free in the casino. Also with the casino drink card water is free also unlike the UBP. You don't have to gamble to get the drinks at the Casino Bar. Interesting - I did not know that about the free drinks in the Casino. About two months ago we took the "free" cruise offer from the Casino and reserved an Ocean View on the Gem's 10/15 sailing. We were offered one choice (of the four) and took the drink package. The original "free" offer was for an inside room but for something ridiculous like an extra $20 total, we were given an OV room; the balcony upgrade would have been something like $500 more. I don't recall being told about free drinks in the Casino - although I still would have opted for the free drink package for pool, dinner and show purposes. Thanks for letting me know about the free water with the certificate - I'll make sure that I use the cert in the Casino.

The casino drink card should be in your cabin in an envelope with your player's card.
mom2tcdx2 Posted September 28, 2016 #32 Share Posted September 28, 2016 If the category the OP wants to book happens to be a guarantee they would lose the perks as it clearly specifies they aren't available with a guarantee category. Though the OP hasn't specifically stated what category they were looking at but my guess it that it is a guarantee. Perhaps try checking the cost of the higher category cabins within the mini-suite category and see what prices those are at.

I was going to say, unless you are going to not drink outside of the casino you might want to keep the UBP. I read that you thought I'd that too! Good luck in the casino and enjoy your cruise! Good idea...re: drink package.....as it is not always the case that you can just walk in (ie not be actively gambling) and get a drink....also...as you said good for pool, dinner and shows...ALSO...on port intensive cruises the casino is not open as much..and drinks would have to be purchased elsewhere anyway. I had gotten a free cruise from Caesars Entertainment through my play at Horseshoe Tunica Casino and was given a casino drink card when I registered for a players card and the waitress would take the drink card to cover the drinks.
