KCMiller Posted September 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Do the public busses take US dollars? Thanks, KC
drew sailbum Posted September 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2016 Yes. Pay in cash, US or Cayman dollars, as you get off the bus. Very likely that the bus driver cannot make change in US currency.

Capt_BJ Posted September 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2016 but don't forget the conversion rate $1US is $0.80CI or in other words your US $10 = $8CI or if using US$ you always add 20%! she may look 20, but she's 16CI
OCruisers Posted September 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2016 Good post, Captain BJ! Many people don't realize this.

jaga04 Posted December 25, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 25, 2016 but don't forget the conversion rate $1US is $0.80CI or in other words your US $10 = $8CI or if using US$ you always add 20%! she may look 20, but she's 16CI The above is almost correct. I'm probably adding in way too much math, but in case someone is paying close attention... (I'm a math person and it's even confusing to me.) $1 US = $0.80 CI as Capt BJ says. That means that $1.25 US = $1 CI. So, if prices are in CI, then you have to add 25% to get the US cost. Bus cost: $2.50 US = $2 CI Bottom line, prices are high in Grand Cayman---except for the bus :).

KBCruiseLover Posted January 9, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 9, 2017 We will be in GC on Jan. 25th on Carnival Vista if everything goes as planned. This will be our 3rd stop there and we've done the extensive tour so we're hoping to just take a ride to Hell to send postcards and spend a little time in that area. There will be 5 of us, all adults. Is the bus the best way to do this? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
