Rare mking8288 Posted September 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Short answer, No. Even if it's fast & reliable enough, and allowed - none of it true. Plus, it will be blocked & bandwidth isn't there. sent via Nexus 5X with 7.0 Nougat via Tapatalk

The Merrill Posted September 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2016 I talked to a few people when I was aboard last week The internet is sketchy at best. NCL has not up-graded the internet yet.

Loonbeam Posted September 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Even Vroom blocks downstream streaming to a point if it starts pulling too much bandwith... Frick_&_Frack Posted September 19, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2016 Last week, I had a lot of being dropped off the internet on Escape (I didn't stream at all - mostly e-mails and messenger). I felt like I had to constantly log back in. They did show the Jets game on the pool screens on Thursday night though. :D
volk904 Posted September 20, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted September 20, 2016 The news today was the event I want will be in the Louisville Clemson game abc at 8pm Sat. Oct 1. Thinking the ship will not have it. I was hoping for ESPN. Or earlier when we would be in port. Sent from my iPad using Forums

cot427 Posted September 20, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 20, 2016 With the Ultimate Cruise Plan that is $29.99 a day, can you purchase it one day at a time or do you have to purchase all 7? I'm telling someone who wants the interest all of the feedback people say regarding its reliability (or lack there of) so she wants to try it first and the time package doesn't really sound appealing, especially with the price. The person can go to the internet cafe on day 1, sit down at one of the PC/terminal and surf the "free" website, which is basically NCL dot com and the Google Search function (a free & working feature reported by many) to see how slow or fast the connectivity is - then, decide. There are few, if any, fleetwide discussion & feedback with NCL's "newest" and 4X "faster" claims by anyone, backed by solid proof or numbers of the improvements and gains achieved. NCL's plans are - with few disputes - the most expensive of the mass cruise lines. The unlimited plans are sold onboard on day 1 or day 2 only, for the duration of the cruise (thus, pro-rated on day 2) - and, there are usually time-based data plans (Breakaway has MB-based data plans) in addition ... these are better options for light users who only need limited access on sea days, not glued to their devices - as streaming isn't available nor usable or allowed udner TOS. If and when it is totally not usable, request & insist on getting a refund onboard from the internet cafe staff - and, in nearly all instances, given when asked. volk904 Posted September 20, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted September 20, 2016 I have watched a lot of football both pro and college in the fall on Princess and RCCL. On spring cruises they only show soccer. I am assuming NCL will show some football at least what is on ESPN. My problem is the game is on ABC and I am not sure they can or are willing to show it. Anybody know what channels they can get in the bars? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Beamco Posted September 21, 2016 #17 Share Posted September 21, 2016 I was just on the Escape last week. the national TV games for the NFL were played all day Sunday, in Bars, by the pool and in your Cabins, they played MNF, and the game on Thursday night. NO NCAA games but a lot of NFL enough to keep most football fans satisfied!

volk904 Posted September 21, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted September 21, 2016 I know abc and Espn are owned by the same company but in past cruises on different lines they usually have an ESPN feed on the ships tv programming. I have never seen a ship have domestic network stuff other than the NFL and World Series. I am sure the ships tech guys could get the game but I am doubtful they would make the effort for a few passengers. Maybe NCL should stop selling a service they can't provide. I'm definitely not falling for it on Escape next month. And yeah, the "upgrade" news has gone suspiciously silent. I'm guessing we won't hear about it again any time soon. Sent from my iPad using Forums
