Please provide information on visiting the Fortress on your own. Any Rental car companies who pick you up at the cruise terminal. Is there public transportation from the terminal to the Fortress and back. Thanks so much.

There's an Enterprise car rental nearby that will pick you up and drop you off at the end of the day. It's a quick and easy drive to Louisbourg.

 

Here's the official Parks Canada website for Louisbourg. Just bear in mind that at this time of year the full summer slate of activities and open buildings is reduced.

Hi there

 

Try and get going as soon as possible after docking. We found that we were running out of time. We were hoping to take a more scenic route back to the city, but wouldn't have been able to make it.

We have used Budget in Sydney (224 WELTON STREET) and Charlottetown, PEI (215 UNIVERSITY AVENUE). Both experiences were excellent. Nice to get out on your own and see the countryside. :)
