Another CAS Booking Question

Hi Folks,

I am appreciative to a number of CAS questions that have been answered by the expert cruisers here. I now have another one that I hope someone can answer before I make my next booking.

I realize that whatever offers you receive from CAS are based on your play. but I am unsure if what your offer is might be different depending on the cruise. Whenever we have booked before we have told the phone rep. what ship and timeframe we are looking at. They then come back (as in an example and say you qualify for that particular Breakaway cruise for a comped ocean view) I am wondering if the offer would be different potentially on a different ship or time. (As another example booking the Sun you would qualify for a comped Balcony)

In other words can a CAS offer vary as to what it would be depending on ship and time. (All things being equal though always a 7 day cruise)

TIA

It always sounds like your offer could differ depending on what ship and what time you want to sail. We have always booked ours 6 to 12 months out so I haven't attempted something different. We sometimes are offered Ocean View and others offered Inside (when we've had a 'winning' cruise.)

I do know that for those who might not play enough to qualify for a cruise several months out, might qualify for a 'low-season' sailing that is just a few weeks out. My DS has got such offers by postcard and they are only good for specified ships in the following 2-3 months. This does make me wonder if I could get an upgraded cabin offer by booking one of those cruises at shorter notice.

It basically varies by the cost of the cruise (to the casino) and what you qualify for. So,,, you could expect a better room in a low season Caribbean cruise than you would get in a peak season Alaska cruise.

Whatever room you get, it is always good to be cruising.

From my personal experience it has varied from cruise to cruise. I have been offered comps anywhere from an inside up to a mini suite. I almost always book back to back cruises and three times in the past the offer has been different for the two side by side cruises. Rather than pay to upgrade I just go with the lower category and then I don't have to change cabins mid cruise. I did the change cabins mid way once and for me it just isn't worth it, but that is because I personally spend very little time in there.

So it never hurts to ask about different weeks, especially if you are flexible. Here's hoping you get a great comp!

Thanks for all the replies! Your answers were what I was thinking the situation would be...so now with confirmation I will be calling CAS Monday and hoping for a decent comp for either Getaway or Escape in March. :)

One last question....are there any ships out there that provide "Winning Slots" ?!??!! :D jk (maybe)

Can you tell me how I request the CAS rate...Do I call NCL or somewhere else. I have received these rates on Princess and Carnival, but just came off a NCL cruise and was pleased with the line and would like to sail with them again.

You need to call Casinos at Sea. 1-877-752-9625

Have a couple of cruises in mind before you call. Then based on your play on your last cruise they will let you know if you qualify for anything. This could be a discount or a free comp.

If by chance you don't qualify for anything this time around, don't be discouraged and ask again after your next one. They factor in a few things so you never know.

Good luck! :)
