Need help choosing Verandah suite on Amsterdam

My husband and I are grateful that HAL has changed its smoking policy. We would love to book a Verandah Suite on the Amsterdam for our Alaska cruise next year. I notice that those cabins are above the public areas. We are noise sensitive “early to bed early to rise” people. There are cabins port side open above the Explorations Café and the Queens Room. Would this be a good option for us to get a quiet cabin? Thanks for any advice.

Sure wish I could help you with your decision, but...... Every Veranda stateroom on the Amsterdam is pretty good, there simply are no "bad" veranda suites on that ship. That is the reason we have taken to booking "veranda guarentee", and letting it go at that. Haven't been disappointed yet.:)

First, just to be exact, the verandah cabins are called Vista Suites. I have one booked for next year and took a hard look at the deck plans before booking.

I decided that we are also early to bed people, I wanted to be aft of the aft elevators to reduce the potential noise of being above public, late night areas (casino, showroom and several bars/lounges).

I would think anything aft of the mid-ship elevators (not the staircase, which might have a bit of sound from the Piano Bar area, or the casino) would be quiet at night. Port side is over the Explorations Café, which is very quiet, and starboard is over Explorers Lounge. The entertainment there ends early.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond with your helpful advice. I just booked a Vista suite on the Verandah Deck, port side midway between the center and aft elevators and over the Explorations Café. We received wonderful unexpected additional amenities from HAL upgrading from an OV cabin.

Happy cruising......
