Yacht Club Compared To Celebrity Suites

Hi,

Have a look at my photothread from the Yacht Club on board the MSC Preziosa, the sistership of MSC Divina. We have sailed the YC many times and it's simply a great experience at sea and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended :)

Norwegian Cruiser 73,

Thank you so much for providing the photothread of your Yacht Club experience! My wife especially enjoyed getting the chance to actually see what the Yacht Club is like. These kind of cruiser supplied images and thoughts are much more authentic than just looking at the company's brochure.

Thank you again for providing such great input which should be valuable for others as well that have not yet sailed in the MSC Yacht Club.

Yes, it is a packet of coupons. If you were not in the Yacht Club you would go pick up your coupon booklet at the Casino upon embarkation. (My husband was convinced I didn't know what I was doing as he pointed out the Casino was closed as we were still in port...yes, it was, but there were employees there with the booklets...) But if you are in the YC the booklet will be waiting for you there. Mine was at the Concierge Desk.

Yes, you can share them with your wife....or anyone you want. They are pre-paid vouchers for drinks so you could give one to a total stranger. So as such keep an eye on them! One poster just barely stopped his child from using one as a gum wrapper...

We bought the booklet on our last cruise, our first in YC. It was a booklet of 18 vouchers and I came home with nine unused. And I had to really try to use the ones we did. I "forced" my husband to get gelato twice. We got drinks once from a bar outside the YC. But since YC is happy to give you drinks to go....and the elevators on Divina are many and quick...it is always easy to nip back up to get a "freebie." Your experience may vary but I wouldn't buy the booklet again.

Thanks for the info on the vouchers....very helpful

I have been a loyal NCL Haven customer over the past number of years...but looking over the MSC threads for the last several months and researching the Yacht Club I finally booked the YC on the Divina for next year....somehow got the Sophia Loren Suite. I do have a question for those who have been there...I understand that drinks are supplied in the YC area and La Muse but not outside those areas so some folks have indicated they purchase the '18' drink package...exactly how does that package work... are they coupons?? Can my wife and I both 'share' the package ???

The difference with the Sophia Loren is the decor. You are going to love, love this cabin.

The only downside is the balcony. I am sure you have probably seen it on youtube. It is long but EXTREMELY narrow. It does have a bit of a windbreak but remember you are on the very front of the ship so on sea days....open your door at your own risk :O)

The best part to me is you actually have solid doors between the bedroom & living room.

I am normally not much of a drinker at home but wind up having wine with lunch on MSC.

Of course, afterwards I need a siesta :O) I can go & the bedroom & my husband can watch TV in the living room & I do not hear a thing.

Also the location is great. Right down the crystal stairs & you are at the entrance to the topsail lounge.

The YC2 cabins are really my preference. They do not have the balcony but floor to ceiling windows instead. That extra square footage is in the cabin making them ginormous with an incredibly large bathroom & better dressing ares, larger bedroom, etc.

Problem for us is they are on the 12th deck. Not to bad of a hike but we are getting a bit older & never know when we are going to have some 'issues'.

I have found the difference in price between the YC1 & the YC 2 or 3 not really that different for getting a cabin more than twice the size.

Thanks for all the info ...we're really looking forward to this Suite and the Yacht Club. On NCL almost all of our cruises have been in the Haven Aft Penthouse... so it will be different and interesting looking out to see where you're going rather than were you've been.

Depending on which ship you book (Divina or Seaside), will depend on the Suite Restaurant location. I read that the new Seaside ship coming to Miami has the Suite Dining room up front in the Yacht Club (Deck 18), thereby keeping everything in the Yacht Club.

FireEater,

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

I like how the Seaside has the Yacht Club's dining room near the Yacht Club area. Of course, there is a wait for the ship to sail :)

Hopefully I can maybe do the Divina first since it is available now and live with the exercise before and after a superb meal.

I really appreciate all the helpful input from so many friendly and informative people!

I just booked the Yacht Club on the msc meraviglia. Starting in the Summer of 2017, YC guests will have free drink privileges throughout the ship. I also confirmed on this new ship, the YC restaurant will be directly above our room on the 18th floor. No need to ever leave the YC as the lounge, pool and restaurant will all be self contained. We have sailed in before in a YC2 on the Divina and YC1 on the Splendida. A great what to travel and better than the NCL Haven which was previously our choice for accommodations.

Mistertoaster,

Thank you for responding!

Great information about the new ship MSC Meraviglia. I especially like finding out that the drinks will be available throughout the ship not just within the Yacht Club starting summer 2017. Having the YC restaurant near the Yacht Club just makes its better and better!

Thanks again!!

I've been lurking on this thread, and I'd like to say thanks for all the positive replys.

We'll be on Seaside in January 18, but alas not in the YC. We have one of the aft balconys, which we are super stoked about because we've never been able to grab an aft before, but you YC types are starting to make us green with envy.

How to convince MSC to include those aft balconies into the Yacht Club program???
