Why no complimentary Internet on non-Oasis class ships

Very different situation on a ship where an expensive sat connection is the only way to get internet. And, no, not every hotel has free internet.

So true - if you stay at a low-end place (e.g., Red Roof, Best Western), you get free internet. If you stay at a more expensive place, you pay big time. Staying at a Marriott next weekend for a family memorial service - rooms are $250 a night (thankfully, my brother-in-law has a ton of points) and wifi is very pricey.

To be fair, you can get free internet in the lobby and with any level of Marriott Rewards.
