dtj89 Posted October 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Hello! We are in the process of booking the Israel and Mediterranean cruise on the Silhouette for next year. We have been offered the classic drinks package for free as we are booking a balcony state room. There will be 5 of us travelling with 3 in one stateroom, 2 have the classic drinks package and the 3rd has the non-alcoholic classics drink package as part of the deal. We have previously cruised with MSC and RCL and there has never been a real issue getting a round of drinks at the bar for all 5 of us using one or two cruise cards. Whats the situation with Celebrity? Would it be suggested to upgrade the 1 person from the Non-Alcoholic classic to classic or can you get a round of drinks? Thanks in advance Dan

Thanks in advance Dan You can only order one drink per card, so you'll have to take all 5 cards to the bar with you, or let the server bring them to your table. On that basis, there is no point in upgrading the non-alcoholic package.
jelayne Posted October 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2016 You should upgrade. The bartenders & servers will want one card per drink the person with the non-alcohol won't get a cocktail, beer or wine. If the servers/bartenders are caught serving alcoholic drinks for no charge to those without a package they are subject to being disciplined. steve ch Posted October 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2016 I'm assuming that the person with the non-alcohol package doesn't want to drink alcohol, so no need to upgrade to the alcohol package.
2theship Posted October 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2016 On that basis, there is no point in upgrading the non-alcoholic package. Unless the person with the non-alcoholic package wants an alcoholic drink. If five people at a table each want a drink, the server must take five cards to swipe. dtj89 Posted October 20, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Thanks for the excellent answers all. Yes the 3rd person would want to drink alcohol. When we have cruised previously with MSC they have just used one or two cards per round of drinks. If 5 have to be produced we will upgrade the package. Many Thanks Dan

wallie5446 Posted October 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2016 It is like paying for 1 all you can eat buffet but wanting to let two people eat. 1 drink per card, no double dipping. #3 will need to upgrade.
Jarvijt Posted October 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2016 DH and I had to give 2 cards for our drinks when we were on the reflection in August. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
SusieV Posted October 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 20, 2016 I'm surprised you're saying RCL did that. From what I've heard they are also strict on the one card per drink (as it should be, really). I mean, you can't buy a "round" unless you're paying for the drinks on your Seapass and not on your package. The package covers drinks for one person only.
