Smart Check-In?

Is it really smart? Another one of the planning things that come along with the big new ships appears that you need to check in the second you make final payment. I was waiting as I normally do and now see that they arrival time is 1:30PM! I HAVE NEVER been to a port this late.

Has anyone shown up (say 3 hours before their time) and been told NO? My hope it's like the board by deck trick they try and they actually don't care. I guess I'll find out soon but another thing that adds stress.
