Tiggercat Posted November 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Has anyone done this excursion? It looks like there is a lot to do on this excursion but you never know until you experience it. Any advice would be appreciated. We will be there in January.
stickyshocker Posted November 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Yes just last week, the scariest slide is the green one thats why there's no line up at all.( its not even the tallest)
Rare crewsweeper Posted November 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I don't believe you have to have an excursion to enter and enjoy the park. It's just a short walk outside the cruise port center gate. http://www.maya-park.com is the website. Not sure what the difference in prices are; not my glass of beer, looked a tad on the high side to me.
KarimaJ Posted November 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Go to TripAdvisor and read up, lots of reviews there. We have booked with our cruiseline just so we can use our OBC for it. Same price whether we book there or through the park directly.
UFLaw Posted November 14, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Does anyone know if you can bring alcohol to the park? My wife doesn't do the slides or zip lines but wants to be able to have something to drink while watching us. Thanks!
c-leg5 Posted November 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Does anyone know if you can bring alcohol to the park? My wife doesn't do the slides or zip lines but wants to be able to have something to drink while watching us. Thanks! Website states that due to the activities involved alcohol is not served so I am guessing they dont allow it. Soft drinks are sold. Maybe someone who has been can tell you whether bags are searched. Sounds like the beginning of another alcohol smuggling thread.......
spl0731 Posted November 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2016 I was just there with my husband and two kids. It was an amazing day! No reason to book on the ship, it is a 5 minute walk from the port. Not sure about alcohol. Expensive if you don't want to go on the slides or zip lines! UFLaw Posted November 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 16, 2016 My wife really didn't want to ride the slides or zip lines. So there is not a non-rider price?
refted Posted December 28, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Someone said same price on board or in person. NCL wants $179 per- I would never pay that, but why the upcharge?
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 28, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Someone said same price on board or in person. NCL wants $179 per- I would never pay that, but why the upcharge? Can't access the website but I thought it was closer to $90-$100 for walk ins. Or that they have different packages at different prices. I think food and drink is extra. While this does fit a need for activities for families, especially with active children, it's way too much price gouging from the cruise port's Mexican/local owners of whom I believe one or two have a few fat fingers into the waterpark pie. KarimaJ Posted December 28, 2016 #11 Share Posted December 28, 2016 We were there Thanksgiving week and paid $89 for adult and $84 for kids through NCL. We did it to use the excursion credit and OBC. I wouldn't pay more then that though. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TeacherGirl82 Posted April 25, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Would you say this is an all day park? Or, could we do this & the beach break excursion? If we did beach & waterpark, would we have enough time to enjoy both?
UFLaw Posted April 26, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Personally, I feel this is an all day event. If you are going to other destinations (Cozumel) then those are great beach days.

If we did beach & waterpark, would we have enough time to enjoy both? Depends on your family. If you plan to do all the slides, pools, and the zip lines then it could be all day. My daughter is 11 and we did it in about 4 hours. We went on the racer slides a few times but didn't do all slides. We did the zip coaster and one zip line and lazy river. If you have time I would say just take a cheap cab to the beach for an hour or 2 if you aren't too tired by then and have extra time. Don't pay for a beach excursion ahead of time. TeacherGirl82 Posted April 26, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Awesome! Thank you! I like the idea of, maybe, taking a cab to a beach, if we feel like it! Is there a certain beach you would recommend?
KarimaJ Posted April 26, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 26, 2017 I haven't been to the beaches yet, but I hear Blue Kay is nice. It's all the same stretch of sand so it may not matter much. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

If we did beach & waterpark, would we have enough time to enjoy both? RC has different options for this location. I booked the ziplines and lazy river option. Not really interested in slides, but could spend hours floating around on lazy rivers. They also have a water park only option that does NOT include the ziplines. I don't believe you can purchase these other options at the park. Not sure what other cruise lines have for their deals with the park.
Rare Liljo22 Posted June 4, 2017 #19 Share Posted June 4, 2017 It was an all day event for us. We were there for 4 hours and didn't get to do everything we wanted. There are two long zip line courses and one zip coaster. Then the Mayan Pyramid has all the slides. We didnt have time for the zip coaster and only could do the slides once. momto2js Posted June 15, 2017 #20 Share Posted June 15, 2017 When I compared, it was less expensive (like $5 or $10 each) to book with NCL. I am hoping I can just pick up tickets and be on our way!!
krissim9 Posted September 24, 2017 #21 Share Posted September 24, 2017 Hi! Does anyone know the height and weight minimums for the zip lines? Also, do any slides, besides kiddie ones, allow kids under 48 inches? Thanks!
designgirl Posted January 5, 2018 #22 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Does anyone know if you can leave the park, get lunch on the ship, and then re-enter the park? Just curious if we should plan to eat there or on the ship.
seaox Posted January 26, 2018 #23 Share Posted January 26, 2018 We're (4 adults 4 kids 10-16yo) on NCL Escape port times 11am to 6pm a. Is that enough time to do the park? b. 3 cruise ships that day NCL arrives late will it be crowded? Thanks for feedback.

We did it in a few hours but it was a bit rainy and we did not do the whole place. There were longer lines for zip lines since they take longer.
