GeneD Posted November 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2016 What is the advantage for booking airplane tickets vs other ways of booking. Are all air bookings non cancel type?
Desert Cruizers Posted November 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) Not all flights are non refundable it will tell you when your looking over the prices. Royal Caribbean Air ( Air 2 Sea ) is best used for International Flights and not Domestic. In most cases they are Non Refundable. Clarea Posted November 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2016 What is the advantage for booking airplane tickets vs other ways of booking. Are all air bookings non cancel type? Another advantage of booking air through the cruise line is that the cruise line insurance covers the cost of air if you cancel for a covered reason. Havingfun2010 Posted November 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Booking air on RCCL cost $25.00 over any published rate. You can get your own flight, have all the flight numbers ready, and have them book it. It's the same price. Sometimes if you are lucky on international flights you get a deal. The benefit for $25.00 is that your airlines are tied to your trip, and one phone call will have RCCL working out any issues you encounter. SC_Floaters Posted November 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2016 Booking through the Cruise Line will ensure you get to your ship. I have been on a couple of cruises where passengers flights were delayed way past departure times (Twice on Alaska Cruises)... Royal put them up for the night and made sure they connected with the ship at the first port of call... If you book you own flight and it is delayed past departure, you might be on your own. Desert Cruizers Posted November 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 21, 2016 I believe using Cruise line air is far better for International flights since they can get better pricing from the airlines and probably guarantee a full plane
auntiedodo Posted November 21, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) We use Royal because we want to be met and hand-carried to the ship! Edited November 21, 2016 by auntiedodo

Desert Cruizers Posted November 21, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) Regardless if you book on your own or use Air 2 Sea or whichever Cruise line air, you still have to pay for Transfers it is not automatic because you booked through a cruise line air. The disadvantage to using Transfers upon returning home, is you will be waiting on all passengers needing that particular bus for a specific Airline before you can leave. We stopped using Cruise Transfers when a cruise we came back on was late and we had a 30 minute drive to the airport and would have missed our flight so grabbed a cab. It is good for arriving for a cruise but the return isn't. if your good on time when you arrive, then ok Edited November 21, 2016 by Desert Cruizers

Booking an International fares through Air2Sea is almost always lower in price. Your biggest savings is if you want to fly Business or First Class. You can select your seats at the time of booking and once you have your Record Locator Number, you can go to the airline's website and manage your booking. You can even change seats if you want.
