151swizzle Posted November 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Hi, I'll be on my second ever cruise end of Jan. First one was Norwegian Star 5 years ago. From what I've been reading, it sounds like the Silhouette will be a much nicer ship! 1) Is there still a free sauna in the mens locker room? what are the hours? 2) what time can one board the ship for a 4pm sailing(format Lauderdale)? 3) Is there often space in the hot tubs or usually full? 4) How is the pizza? 5) Is there really an annoying amount of piped in music? 6) Is the lawn a pay space , or only need to pay for the cabanas? 7) what are the main dining room dinner hours? Thank you
CHEZMARYLOU Posted November 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Welcome to Cruise Critics and Silhouette. 1. There is a sauna in the locker rooms. It is probably available the same hours as the spa. 2. Boarding usually starts around 11:00 3. We've never had a problem using the hot tubs. We do use the ones in the solarium, not by the pool. 4. Haven't tried it for a while, there are too many choices. From what I remember if it is fresh out of the oven it is pretty good. Others may disagree. 5. There is some piped music. I can usually tune it out. Annoying is in the ear of the listener. 6. Lawn is free, cabanas have a charge. There is also 2 fee restaurants near the lawn, Lawn Club Grill and The Porch. 7. Haven't used the MDR for awhile but I think it is open from 6:00 to 9:30 for select dining. Enjoy your cruise, we board her in just over a week. :D

I understand from sailing with friends with experience to compare that pizza on Princess is better. The previous poster nailed the other items. tweetylori Posted November 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2016 Just off the Silhouette and we were quite impressed with the quality of the pizza. They had a nice variety also.

151swizzle Posted November 24, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted November 24, 2016 Thanks for the feedback. I personally hate tuna, however its a very popular pizza topping, I see it on menus all the time. 8) Where is the best place to be at sail away?
