HAM Posted January 14, 2017 #629 Share Posted January 14, 2017 I'm pretty sure I turned in fairly early after the show myself to get some rest before our last port and last land before starting the Atlantic crossing. OMG we woke up in the Canary Islands! May I present our first view from our balcony...hello Santa Cruz, Tenerife! One of the things I got a kick out of in our Daily's on port days was the All Aboard section. The Tenerife one was my favorite, and I quote: "All Aboard at 4:30 pm: Important Note: If you do not return before departure time it is your responsibility to make arrangements to rejoin the ship. Travel distance to the port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is 3413 nautical miles". :o Now if that doesn't put a little fear of time into a person, I don't know what will. It worked every time for us (especially this one), so we were always super careful to return early! Now had we done ship excursions we would have not had to worry about it. The reason we didn't do them, by the way, is because all of the ports were new to us, so ANYthing we did in them was an experience. We didn't want to get in the way of folks leaving the ship for planned excursions, so we chose to leisurely get off. This morning was a perfect morning for a stop at Cafe al Bacio! It's important to look here before taking a seat: And ....you got a piece of a rainbow in your photo !! Love your review, you guys sound like you would be great to meet on a cruise. tweetylori Posted January 21, 2017 Author #635 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Ever feel the need to escape? Today's been one of those. Made me nostalgic for this cruise. Wishing we were back on it right now. Perhaps Husband would be headed here for some karaoke: Or maybe some walking around with a stop in the casino: Or a stroll up on deck with a stop at this hopefully open bar: Most of all, I'd like to be back in 8346 with Husband again! Thanks Again Sure hate to hear that the pics aren't showing up. :( I honestly don't know what to do about that. I can see them. They are all uploaded on Photobucket. I wonder if others are having the same problem? Maybe it was a temporary fluke? Really sorry! I know how frustrating that can be! Whenever I have weird technical problems at work I ask an engineer to just walk in my studio and usually that's all it takes. As soon as I start to show them the tech problem...poof, it's gone! Hopefully now that I've stepped in the room (so to speak), despite not being anything that resembles an engineer, maybe my pics will reappear for you. :o

Golfwife1 Posted January 27, 2017 #642 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Lori: I stumbled across your review belatedly, as I was only surfing CC regarding the X Reflection- then, I widened my scope. So glad I did! I actually took your review with me to bed at night, and chuckled and swooned and thoroughly enjoyed the pages (until my eyes got too heavy!) and I would pick it up the next night. You did a fantastic job and I enjoyed every bit. I am confident that my attempt at a review will be a complete disappointment compared to yours, but will try to contribute back to CC after my 3/4/17 Reflection trip (which is making my heart beat a little faster as it gets closer). Have a great 2017 and many voyages ahead! P.S. I will be ordering espresso every day in your honor while on Reflection.

shipgeeks Posted January 29, 2017 #646 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Thank you for a fabulous diary! (I do a daily journal, in a book, rather than take photos. You provided the best of both.) #55worktoplay Posted January 29, 2017 #647 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Well I have just finished reading what is the best review. Well done! I have never sailed on Celebrity nor been to Italy but your review has now added the exact crossing on the exact ship as well as a trip to Rome on my bucket list. Both of which have never in the past considered. Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip, you have a great talent in writing.

You took me back to our Silhouette TA of several years ago so very well! Sigh..... Thank you so much for your comments. I did bring a journal with me and wrote in it periodically, but not regularly like I thought I would. I think it's awesome you do a daily journal. I bet you have terrific words for your TA. You should share them!

tweetylori Posted February 9, 2017 Author #650 Share Posted February 9, 2017 Wine lovers...if you find a winery you love on these trips, buy some and have it shipped home! I am so GLAD that we chose to do so in Tuscany. We are savoring each of these precious bottles. What a fabulous reminder of our amazing adventure, and wonderful way to relive our memories. #missingoursilhouette
