Deptacon Posted November 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2016 Been to Coz several tomes and returning in January. Going to walk around again as we love the town. Any places, squares, markets, streets, points of interest worth venturing towards or to that are off the main tourist strip? Great little bars or locations? Local markets? grandmarnnurse Posted November 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2016 I will be in Cozumel in January on the NCL Getaway. Does anyone know if she usually docks at the downtown pier, or the one further away. We have been there several times on other cruise lines, but always seem to be at the far away pier. We docked only once (on Carnival) downtown, and we like that much better. Sent from my iPad using Forums

This is always subject to change but Unlikely in January when there will be many ships docking. http://www.cruiseportinsider.com/cozumelschedule2016.html

Sent from my iPhone using Forums We really enjoyed Wet Wendy's for a delicious fresh margarita. They use all kinds of special flavors (I believe I had a ginger-pear cactus or something like that). They do peanut butter and chocolate and plenty of other flavors. It's a small outdoor bar with lots of great people watching! A few doors down was an art gallery/shop where the artist painted on feathers. Really cool! Wish now I would have purchased one. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Second checking out Cozumel my Cozumel and Cozumelinsider for useful general information - bear in mind that prices are often out of date and restaurants open and close with great regularity or change location! Other good local sources can be found by searching "Cozumel forums" on Google, where you will find more recent discussions regarding current restaurants etc scuba board, TripAdvisor forum, cozumelmycozumel locals forum. We also like Woody's and La Choza. Take a walk down Avenida 5 or 10 out of the tourist mainstream or head back to El Mercado for a truly local shopping experience to see fresh fruit, meat and fish. There is a self-guided walking tour of San Miguel which points out some of the interesting things to see.
