Any Harmony Genie Reviews Coming Up?

Recommended Posts

Alex, our Genie on Harmony, has been fantastic. She's easily my favorite Genie I've had (four so far), in terms of the quality of service and her availability.

When did you first hear from her. We sail in 11 days. If I remember correctly I might hear from them tomorrow. My biggest need right now is 2 cabanas side by side in Labadee

  • 2 weeks later...

If anyone could share their experience with the Royal Genie on the Harmony, I'd appreciate it. We have a Sky Loft suite booked in a couple of months and just read a scathing review of someone's experience with their Royal Genie on the Harmony. Yikes.

Also, how / when do you actually reserve the cabanas at Labadee? Every call to RC is met with, "once you get on board, you reserve it with the genie." That just does not seem like the right answer ...

Thanks!!

Our experience with the Genie on Harmony was amazing. She was easily the best we've had. Everything was handled without issue and service that exceeded what is even in the job description. For example, not only did she book the restaurants for us, she'd often show up to the restaurant a few minutes early to ensure our table was ready and that we wouldn't have to wait once we arrived. At the shows, we had the desired seating location every time.

An in-suite party was planned to perfection, complete with catering and a bartender. Another night, we decided to have a "favorites" night, where everyone specified their favorite food items from throughout the ship. She arranged these all to be delivered to our suite.

As far as a cabana, just put in your reply to the welcome email they send you that you'd like a cabana. It can be booked that way. In fact, I'd suggest using this email reply to specify and outline exactly what you'd like. I always tell the Genie what restaurants we'd like on which days, etc and this way we've never had an issue ensuring everything was booked.

Some Genies required a bit more "management" on my part than others. One on Oasis in particular didn't use much logic. For example she scheduled private Flowrider time then double booked us with dinner at the same time.

We are back from our fabulous week on Harmony of the Seas. We had booked the Presidential Family Suite to celebrate my 50th birthday.

We had Cleon Fraser as our Genie. Our initial pre cruise contact with him was a little lacking in my opinion because but he did indicate he was working on our request. We did ask for 2 over the water cabanas in Labadee and told him we wanted to do the shows as well as all specialty restaurants. He asked what kind of sodas, water and beer we wanted in our mini fridges.

We arrived to the port at 11:15 and he came down and met us and walked us on. He escorted us to our room and were unpacked by noon.

He had scheduled all of our dining for us and made chat when we needed to. We had dinner for 12 on our balcony on my birthday which he took care of for us.

Cleon had 2 other suites he was taking care of but we felt like we were the only one he had. We had 8 adults that wanted different things at different times and He never told us no and had a few surprises for us.

It was different from our genie experience on Oasis but both were fabulous.

Thanks for posting!! Was the genie able to book chefs table and hibachi? I made reservations online and I am hesitant to cancel them not knowing if availability will be an issue.... Any other info you can share would be great!! We are leaving in 3 weeks and 6 days but haven't received our survey yet. I am going to give it 1 more week then I will be calling. Thanks!!

We did not do the chefs table but yes they can. He did make all the other restaurants for us and I was a little concerned because we had 8 people. You should get a generic questionnaire about 2 weeks out and a email from your genie 10 days prior.

Make sure you do wonderland and Rubicon puzzle room

I have read that Hibachi can be harder to get into. We have prebooked it to get it, and will take the OBC when we are on the ship.

We didn't get our survey until 3 weeks before our sail date.

Would be interested in any comment/observations you have on the Presidential Family Suite itself. Any comment/recommendations on having 8 people in the PFS. Assume you had 2 people in each of the four bedrooms (two master suites and two different interiors). Anything you would do different the next time?

The one sensitive question on the boards is how much to tip your Genie. Realize this is based on his/her service and your feelings regarding tipping. Any general thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

We have tipped $100 per person in the cabin, and we don't ask much of the Genie. It really comes down to what you are comfortable with. We tip the stewards over and above that.

We are in the 2 bedroom Aquatheater suite on deck 8. We are sailing Feb 18th so you will be a couple weeks ahead of us!! I will definitely watch for your review!! Thanks!:)

We are traveling on feb 18th as well. In sky class. See you in the lounge. Interested in genie experience. We've had butlers on NCL & MSC and I didn't feel that they did very much.

We absolutely loved the PFS. We had 4 couples so 8 adults. I think the biggest think that you will have to decide is who gets the inside room with the bathroom across the hall. My dads and ddil took that room and no one else used their bathroom.

We really enjoyed that everyone had their private space but had a common room to get together. It is really quite in the bedrooms even when people were hanging out in the living room area.

As far as tipping the genie. When dh and I went on Oasis and had a genie we tipped $300 as he did make and change reservations for us and was available when we needed him. This time we did utilize Cleon a lot. It was my 50th and he helped decorate the room for me. On Labadee we booked 2 over the water cabanas and he went out on his own and decorated them before he escorted us there. All of our request were answered with no problem. So we did end up tipping him $1,000 between the 8 of us.

We changed our hibachi reservations 3 times because of shows. The night that we finally went we couldn't get in until 9:30 which is really late for us to eat but Cleon sent appetizers to our room and set us up to do the puzzle room right before dinner so it worked out great.

Hi Chris.

Sounds like it worked well overall for you. We pre-booked and paid for what we needed time wise, for shows and meals, for our March cruise. For that cruise we are travelling with our DS who is 10. All meals have been booked for before 6pm, as he already seems to be eating us out of house and home.:) Also at his age we know he won't go to all the shows. We have already been on Harmony once without him and have seen most everything. I know I will use the OBC from restaurant booking to pay the private rental of the flow rider. In essence we are just transferring the funds to a different billable item, to which won't be reimbursed even in Star Class.

We are sailing again on Harmony this September in Star Class and our DS will not joining us. We will not be booking anything in advance and let our Genie work their magic for us.

It sounds like Cleon did a respectable job taking care of you. Congrats on your 50th as well.:)

Andrew

Thank you so much for all of the information. I am curious if you paid for Starbucks drinks? I was just reading 2 reviews on the Allure that mentioned they did not pay for Starbucks or Ben and Jerry's. Did you end up being charged for anything? Upgraded steaks in Chops? Just curious... thanks!!

We did not pay for Starbucks or lobster and upgraded steaks. At 150 we had to pay like $25 for the cucumber martini and wine but that was only because they were over the $14 limit.

Awesome to read this. On Allure in August we would have had to pay for the upgraded steaks and lobster. Another reason to look forward to our March Harmony cruise. :D

Just an update...we are 2 weeks and 5 days out from our sailing and still haven't received the survey. I called C&A this morning and they said I definitely should have received the survey 6 weeks out. They said they are contacting the ship to let them know. She also said we should be receiving the email (not the survey) directly from the genie at 2 weeks out. We will see!! Really excited for this cruise and hoping the Genie experience is fabulous!!

Leaving in 5 days, Genie's been in constant contact with our reservation holder and very much looking forward to arriving on Saturday. I'm sure one of us from this reservation will definitely update the thread with a review!

I am going on my cruise this Saturday. So far my genie has been great. She contacted me about five days ago and has booked dinners for me, booked a private tour in Mexico and other things. I am looking forward to what is starting out to be an awesome cruise. I am really looking forward to this cruise more than any cruise I have taken over the last thirty years!
