In 2016, 35 days on Carnival.

Of course, this was one of the few years we sailed only on Carnival (21 night Journey cruise in Jan/Feb and then 2 seven night cruises in July & August).

Next year it will be less:

12 Carnival (5 night and 7 night)

6 Royal

9 Celebrity

7 Disney

so about the same number of nights (34 versus 35) but spread over multiple cruise lines.

One thing strikes me after reading all these responses: how many of the cruisers here cruise on the same ship over and over.

The conclusion I draw from that is that buying cruises is much like buying real estate: what matters is location, location, location. :-) We tend to cruise from those ports closest to home, even if it means cruising to the same destinations. I hope Carnival recognizes how important that is to us in North America. And maybe some of us would like to be able to visit different destinations from the same embarkation port.

I've especially enjoyed reading about the cruises that retired and semi-retired cruisers are enjoying. What a great world we live in! I'm getting closer to their world, but I'm not quite there yet. :-) That's something to look forward to. In the mean time, we need to continue hearing from those retired and semi-retired cruisers here on Cruise Critic. You have so much knowledge to share with the rest of us.

Keep 'em coming ya'll!
