What was the location for your muster Michael?

In 12660, muster was E3 Champagne Bar.

Arrive early if you want to sit.

By early I mean 3:30 time range. Muster was at 4.

Not the best in the world.

Agree with some of the previous comments about the commercial shortbreads being the better option.

If it is hard to read say something. I'll get a better picture later.

Could you tell me please, Do they have alcohol drinks at Starbucks? We did on our Freedom cruise a year ago but not sure if they'll have it for our upcoming Oasis cruise in January.

Starbucks does not. Cafe Promenade does.

I'll try my best to capture a shot next time I pass by

Also keep in mind "Starbucks" on Freedom serves beverages made with Starbucks branded products.

Subjective Food Review: Chops

Did the First Night Done Right promotion, $15 a person.

Ordered the shrimp cocktail, scallops, bacon, short ribs (spinach and asparagus for sides), and liquid chocolate cake.

Have to say in my option for $15 it was worth it, normal price I don't think so.

Short rib was very tender. Shrimps were decent size, 3 of them in the cocktail. Don't recall the number of scallops 3 or 4. Bacon was a nice portion.

Service was excellent.

First Day Review Summary/Slab of text

Check-in

Once past the fiasco of the passenger drop off area it was very quick. Biggest hold up seemed to be the Porters loading the luggage carts after passengers were dropped off.

Security for Suites and Pinnacles has two metal detectors. Not sure of the count for everyone else.

Check in was no hassle. Dedicated line for Suites, Pinnacles, and Diamond Plus. Diamonds, Emerald, and Platinum had a line together. Golds had their own line. I also noticed signage with deck numbers, not 100% sure if that was directed towards the first timers.

The waiting area with the nice seating was for Sky Class Suite, Pinnacles, and Star Class Suites. The sign for Sea Class suites was covered up. No longer are suiteless Diamond and Diamond Plus permites to wait in that area.

Seating in the terminal, not sure if there was an arrangement based on loyalty status.

Boarding was very quick, would venture to say they called the upper tier folks starting at 11 am. I was in the security line when the boarding announcements started.

Park Cafe, upon boarding ot wasn't at all busy. This was after general boarding had started. There was a line outside of Giovanni's for folk checking on Speciality dining.

Windjammer, line to enter. They were seating folks wanting to enter.

First Night Done (not so) Right (FNDR), never had an invitation to what restaurant was selected. Then again we spoke with the one of the Suite Concierge's to setup where. At the same no one really had any idea how the FNDR was too work.

Chops, see an earlier post on what my general opinion was. Once again, I'm an easy to please person when it comes to food. Unless it was down right garbage on a plate, I could care less. I'm not looking for Michelin Star rated food.

Ranting on food, not a fan of these "fresh baked" cookies for loyalty status. If I wanted cookies like that I could get them from Cafe Promenade or Windjammer. Now after being up for sometime and a few drinks in the system, not bad.

Drink Package Damage Report

2 Glenlivets

2 Moscow Mules (Champagne Bar, has to have something pre and post muster drill)

1 Johnny Walker Black, double

2 Pellegrinos (Chops, small size bottles)

1 Sparkling Rosemary Lemonade (Chops)

1 Hot Shot Espresso (Chops)

1 Red Bull and vodka (This was in the casino. I have the VIP sticker as part of a promotion so one could argue that doesn't count. I don't think I would qualify otherwise for free drinks.)

1 Icy Bourbon Mint Mocha

3 bottles of spring water

Casino Report

Didn't really notice the smell of smoke, did catch a whiff of it every now and then. By 12:30 am things started to die down.

First ship impressions,

Different is some ways to Allure. Next cruise on Oasis is located where the loyalty ambassador was on Allure (deck 6, next to the Schooner bar).

By 1-1:30 am things seemed to be dieing down. Bolero's and Schooner bar were closing up, Champagne Bar and the Pub were already closed.

Sorrento's was still open and had a bar area open. They were no longer making the individual pizzas at that time.

Cafe Promenade still open and serving sandwiches and desserts.

Overall that is a conclusion to the first day.

If you folks have any questions feel free to ask away, I'll be here all week and most of next week!

Thank you Bob, how do I follow someone and get notifications?

How you get notified for things that you have subscribed to are set by editing your own user profile. (Under User CP top left of this site). You configure how you want to be notified and when. It's under 'Edit Options under 'Messaging & Notification' section nearer bottom of that page (Default Thread Subscription Mode).

So User CP profile dictates the notification how and when overall, then you subscribe to a thread as you wish.

When you are in Coastal Kitchen would you take note if there is seating for two beside a window? Thanks.

There is seating by the windows for two.

I'll try and get a picture posted later today.

Guess more people had the same idea of staying on board.

Solarium Bistro is packed.

By the time I left Solarium Bistro the line and crowd had started to thin some. Just to get an idea, I headed over to Windjammer. Windjammer had plenty of seating toward the back and really wasn't all that busy.

Good Afternoon- question/clarification please.

I purchased the beverage package (for our Oasis cruise in 4 weeks) and it states that drinks up to $12 are covered.

I noticed most of the drinks in the champagne bar are $13 and was surprised when you said up to $13 is covered.

Has that recently changed? Can you confirm please? Thank you.

And another question. Can you get the First Night Done Right deal after you board on the first day? I hate to use my credit card before the cruise when I have OBC available.

Don't think you can get it on board.

Don't worry too much about the OBC. The best way is if you need to cycle it out is to setup with a cash account and "buy" money from the casino. By having a cash account this will avoid the 5% fee.

On the Oasis Class the drink package will cover up to $13. Any thing over will be difference plus 18% gratuity on that difference.

Added: I know it was like this on Allure back in May.
