Port Canaveral - May Thru October - 2017/2018?

Am I missing something or is NCL not sailing from Port Canaveral from May to Oct in 2017 nor 2018?

 

Wouldn't it be great if Breakaway Plus #4 filled the empty space? :D

I don't recall them being there in the summer since I began using NCL in 2011. That's why we always end up booking Carnival.

It just seems strange to me with Escape leaving Florida and the competition adding more large ships to Florida (MSC, RCCL, Carvival), Getaway is the only large ship NCL will have in the area for the summer of 2018.

The Epic is sailing from Port Canaveral for this winter season, but I have not heard anything about next year. I just came off her last weekend.

The Epic replaced the Spirit that sailed the 2015/2016 winter out of PC. There was a similar gap between the Spirit leaving in April and the Epic returning in October.

 

There is less demand for the Caribbean during the hot summer months during hurricane season. Most cruise lines move ships off those itineraries elsewhere (Europe, Alaska, etc.). Plus, PC is further way from any ports than Miami.
