dpal2208 Posted December 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Has anyone seen an update on the completion of the dry dock? Wasn't it coming out Dec 16th? Very curious what was done and if everything got completed. Bon Voyage Dip

rkacruiser Posted December 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2016 I agree. I would like to know what was accomplished. I hope that the propulsion issue has been resolved as well.
robc1972 Posted December 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2016 I dont think the propulsion issue was fixed. They re-positioned it and swapped it with Valor because it wouldn't be fixed in a reasonable amount of time.
Frank12 Posted December 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2016 I was just in Freeport on the Valor Monday and Liberty was there completely out of the water.
Goldheart Posted December 19, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2016 I would be interested to know as well. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Current tracking shows the ship is off for its 4 night voyage to the Bahamas 12/18-12/22. Its in the Florida Straits. Whatever work done is complete. It turns right around and heads out again on 12/22.

tequilasunrise Posted December 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2016 Liberty came out of drydock the 14th, but has a change of itinerary---she will be doing 3 and 4 day cruises from Orlando to the Bahamas for now.

Was interesting. Never seen a ship in dry dock before.

MittenChic Posted December 26, 2016 #15 Share Posted December 26, 2016 I will be on the Liberty in 3 days, so I am curious if anyone has been on any recent sailings since dry dock that can provide feedback on their experience. Impatient waiting for Thursday... [emoji41]☀️[emoji568][emoji907] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
sjcruiser Posted December 27, 2016 #16 Share Posted December 27, 2016 Just a quick post reply off the top of my head. I'm just off the Liberty on Christmas morning. Debarkation was smooth and easy, and we were onboard before noon having lunch on the Lido. Muster was confusing and unorganized. The staff didn't have you line up behind one another on deck to get a proper count, and no one counted our area ("D" muster station). The talking was so loud, the Safety Briefing had to be done twice by the Captain and CD, which I blame on the Muster Team not controlling the situation or request people to stop talking and listen to the announcements, like they normally do. Our room steward Budiasa on the Empress Deck, mid-ship was great along with his staff. The cabin was always maintained, but the plumbing/showers/drains/toilets in our section/deck always had a problem, and the plumbers had to be called for a few several cabins each day, including ours. The shower wouldn't drain, and either overflowed into the bathroom, or it came out from the drain under the toilet. The water pressure in the shower was great, but it was low in the sink until the second day. While on the Promenade, Casino, or Lido, we noticed the ship was always vibrating/shuttering, which we assume is from the engines. Bar service on the Lido and casino were great, along with service in the dining room for MTD/ATD. Things were not top notch on this sailing, and it was noticeable by us (Gold), the Platinum cruisers we were with, and several Diamond members we spoke with. This did not ruin our cruise, and was not enough to warrant me going, or calling down to guest services, or writing a letter in my head to fire off to Carnival in an email. I chalked it up to being an adjustment period out of dry dock, and hopefully things will get better in the next few cruises. Since we're 45 minutes from the Cape, we'll be sailing again soon when we decide to take a last minute cruise when they have a pack and go sale (trying to make Platinum (8 days away) before our F&F cruise in August), so I'll be sure to a comparison, which will be in the next 60-90 days. I agree with you. Rather than keep on complaining, I would understand the situation coming from drydock and be hopeful that things will get better. Meantime, I will enjoy whatever there is. tidecruiser Posted December 31, 2016 #21 Share Posted December 31, 2016 Anything new that you noticed changed or added in dry dock? Just wondering if any changes since my last cruise 2 years ago. Liberty already had the 2.0 upgrades, but just curious if there was something new or different.
