Barbados Beach Break tour on Summit?

Did the Barbados Beach Break last Jan. aboard Summit and was very disappointed with the beach they took us to....not nearly as nice as in past years to the Tiki Hut Beach venue and they raised the price by $10! There was limited seating/umbrellas (staff was trying to accommodate everyone on the bus trip with less chairs/umbrellas than needed for that number) and this beach area was far less relaxed than at Tiki Hut area. Anyone do this tour this season and where did they take you??? Thanks for any input.

I haven't done that tour, but did sign up for a different one:

You might take a look around Viator. There's some different options there. We've been there/done that with all the snorkeling & boat trips and even some of the island sightseeing. We wanted to see parts we haven't seen before and be dropped off at the beach. I'm hoping it's not the same beach you went to though.

If you are just looking to go to a beach, hop a cab to the Boatyard.

Beach and the bar are both nice. Admission included a ride back to the ship.

We found the boatyard to be pretty expensive. I think a bucket of beers was like $30. We had a private taxi tour and had him stop at a locals only rum shack and got 5 beers for $4 and got to have beers with the old retired locals drinking Johnny Walker Black at 10:00am. It was an awesome experience and only an hour out of our day. You can chose whatever beach you want.

Hi

I would never do a ship tour on Barbados, take a cab down to the Worthing area and try the coral mist hotel.

The beach and pool are fantastic, ask to have Lunch

The staff are very friendly and the taxi fare is about $20 each way.

We had a lovely day there last March.

Agree with threeputt. Enjoyed our visit to the Boatyard. We saw many of the crew members there as well.

Another vote for the Boatyard, especially if you are the only ship in port. We were there last week on the Summit and it was nearly empty. The cab ride is very short, and only 5$pp from the port. The admission to the Boatyard is 20$ pp and includes chair, shared umbrella for 2, and a welcome drink (choice of a beer, water, soda, or select cocktails). It also includes a free ride back to port, and there were plenty of shuttles leaving at 15-30 minute intervals all afternoon. Additionally, it includes a quick snorkel trip (10-15 min) via boat to see the sea turtles. We plan to do the exact same thing on our next cruise as it was such an easy and enjoyable day! (As far as the beer goes, we paid 18$ for a bucket of Carib.)

Looks lovely...Based on our prior visits to Barbados...we have a few ques if you don,t mind

Do they take res,

How far was it from the port, did u get the taxi inside the port or outside the gate?

How easy was it to get a taxi back to port, and how long was the checkpoint line to re enter the port?

We took a beach excursion with the ship., do not recall nane of Exc or Beach....We could actually see the ship..the beach was ok, water wonderful but the backdrop was an abandoned distillery or refinery..something quite ugly..the resort looks great

Hi

It's about 15/20 mins cost $20 or so Us $

There is no charge for chairs etc we got a taxi from the port , it maybe cheaper outside, we just turned up but the first time we emailed them,

They will call a cab for you to return to the port and we just sailed through,

They will open a tab and you can pay by card or cash, the beach tour you mention went to the Malibu Distilery which is now closed.

The Coral is really nice and the Chicken Tenders are to die for

Thank you for suggesting this & the follow up info....printing out their info for our cruise folder..

I asked abt the return cab because we went to a great place on St Kitts but they could not find a cab willing to come get us...so we walked back to the ship..but it wasn't too far away.
