rvrocker Posted July 19, 2017 #651 Share Posted July 19, 2017 The mini bar is not stock by room steward tat is another group. The room steward is for cleanliness and towel animals
grapau27 Posted July 19, 2017 #652 Share Posted July 19, 2017 I wonder, when these charges are placed is a tip added? Would the 18% go to the room steward? I just can't believe that RCCL would apply a false charge so many times. It is room bar service who are responsible. nealstuber Posted July 21, 2017 #654 Share Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) It is room bar service who are responsible. Sent from my Kestrel using Forums mobile app And they took it in the soft ones when they stopped stocking the minibars. It's not just the water that needs to be eliminated, it's the room bar service department who forced the elimination of the stocked mini bars with their (probably intentional) errors and enough of them got to stay around to make a living off 18% of $6 bottles of water. If RCCL felt the need to get the stewards more revenue by giving them more work, they would have been much better served by eliminating the bar room service department and letting the stewards handle that for a tip (instead of giving them more rooms). The displaced bar room staff could have been reassigned to the casinos and pools where it is severely lacking. They went this route in the MDR, giving the assistants the opportunity to earn extra cash with bar service and eliminating bar service there. That's ass backwards as the assistants are too busy hustling drinks to bring the sour cream when the waiter brings my potato. rvrocker Posted July 21, 2017 #657 Share Posted July 21, 2017 I don't think it really matters to them. We are just numbers on a spreadsheet regardless of what they try to promote. Unless you sail constantly with the same Captain after you get off his boat he not going to remember you, even he recognized you at some event on board. Cloudsipping Posted July 21, 2017 #659 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Hello, Everybody. I just got off the Anthem yesterday, took the 5 day cruise to Bermuda July15th- 20th. There were NO water bottles in the room, in either the fridge or on the counter. It was my first cruise, so i didn't know quite what to expect. Not only were there no bottles of water, there was also no order form to stock the mini bar or any of the door hangers for breakfast. Only found out about those a few days in when i saw them on other cabin doors. I asked my cabin attendant about them, and he just said " oh you didn't get?" and provided us with the mini bar order form and the door hangers. So while there were no bottles of water, it might have been overlooked along with those items. I had a cash account, so no extra charges. We wound up ordering drinks for the mini bar. I did not see an option for cans of coke zero. We would have chosen that over diet coke if it had been an option. We ordered six cans of coke, 6 of diet coke, 6 cans of ginger ale and a 12 pack of 1liter Evian water. (we had family members in other cabins and planned to share with them). the 6 pack of sodas were $12 per 6 pack. The evian water they offered in either a 500 ml size or the 1 liter. The one liter was just a little more expensive, so we chose that size. Only to find upon delivery that they gave us 24 bottles of 500ml instead of 12 bottles of the 1L size. They did not however charge us double the price of 12 500 ml bottles, just the cost of 12 1L. Thank goodness. I had some incorrect charges to my account. I had the refreshment package, and was charged twice for bottles of water (before we ordered from mini bar) I got them from the pool bar on two separate occasions on the same day. I think it was for $3.84 each. I had ordered the drinks package before hand, so my card had the sticker affixed. I went to guest services to have the charge reversed. The woman was very nice and reversed the charges. Then i went back to my room to make sure the charges were removed on my bill on the tv. They were. But 2 more were added! now i had 4 pool bar charges of $3.84 and only 2 removed. UGHHHH. I went back to guest services and had the new two removed. I also got charged for a water in the theatre later in the cruise and had to get that removed as well. Guest services staff was very nice. Overall it was a wonderful cruise, but I advise everyone to check their accounts closely. Will report back if i get an email saying I owe for the nonexistent waters, but with a cash account I don't expect to.

It is great they have removed the cabin bottled water but concerning and suspicious they made so many mistakes with your cabin bill from other bars.
