ajf4444 Posted January 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2017 (edited) Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get access to an iron onboard the Gem or do you have to send items to the laundry? May be looking a bit dishevelled if I can't lol Edited January 6, 2017 by ajf4444
Ddmc Posted January 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2017 Your steward should be able to loan you one. You could also look up some packing guides that advise rolling your clothes. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
casofilia Posted January 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2017 Ask the steward for an iron and ironing board. But please use them asap and get them returned also asap as there are not many available.
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get access to an iron onboard the Gem or do you have to send items to the laundry? May be looking a bit dishevelled if I can't lol You can get an iron and ironing board from your room steward. They will come back, shortly, to collect the iron since it is a fire hazard and they will not let you keep it.
asubaru Posted January 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2017 You might want to consider the 50% off pressing fee that some ships (Escape, Epic and Pearl that I recall) offer the first day. janpo Posted January 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Bring a wrinkle spray. It works great. I too used to iron on vacation. No more since I discovered the spray.

Ardie13 Posted January 7, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Not having an iron is the only thing about a cruise that gives me anxiety. lol I do notice that I get over it really quick as soon as I get on the ship. I am one of those people that iron everything. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
MandyMommyof2 Posted January 7, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2017 Yes, just as others have said your room steward can hook you up. But what I did our past cruise was invest in a steamer. These are 100% completely allowed in your stateroom. Our room steward would even wrap my cord up and store it for me if I didn't pick it up before leaving for dinner. I purchased mine from Wal-Mart for under $25.00. No wrinkles is a necessity for me...lol.
