Beach Bars with Palapas to Stay all Day?

Are there any beach bars in either Eagle/Palm Beach where we can set ourselves down and stay for the day? Looking to be able to relax, swim, eat and drink from one home base if possible.

I am looking for something comparable to the beaches in Puerta Vallarta, for those of you who have been there....does that exist in Aruba?

We took a taxi to Eagle Beach right as we walked off the ship. $13 for the taxi. Lots of palapas. We paid $40 for 5 chairs and 2 palapas that were next to each other. Someone came up to help us just as we walked onto the sand. There's a beach bar right there.

Eagle Beach is rather long, many areas. Do you remember exactly where the taxi dropped you off? Thanks

Do you recall the name of the beach bar that was nearby?

Is it hard to find a taxi? And once there can you find a taxi to take you back to ship

Have a magical day

Sorry for not following this thread. The beach was directly across the street from the Amsterdam Manor Hotel.

We walked off the ship and thru the building there at the port and exited the other end. There was a Taxi sign and a person standing there handling the taxis. You told him where you wanted to go and he got on his radio and a taxi showed up. The taxi sign had a list of place with prices on it. I only remember $13 to Eagle beach because that's where we wanted to go.

This was right there by the ship. We did not have to walk out of the port area.

When we left we walked to the area where we were dropped off and almost immediately a taxi pulled up that had some passengers already and asked if we were ready to go back to the ship. He charged us $5/pp.

The Aruba bus service runs small vans up and down the beach area to downtown. They take more than one group at a time. This was probably what you rode in, but the fare should have been $2.60 per person. That is the same as the regular bus fare. Taxis rates are per taxi, not per person. If it was a taxi, and you were charged $5.00 each, then the driver was doing that illegally. We ride in the vans often when we are in Aruba.

We had a cab driver take us to the Divi resort last time we were in Aruba. They sell "coupons" at the front desk that you can use for food and drinks and we were able to use their chairs and palapas for the day. Nice place, not far from the pier. I don't recall the cab fare but the driver came back to get us at a predetermined time.

Oh well. We got back to the ship safely and obviously didn't mind paying what he asked. We're not adventurous enough to get on the local buses and I can't walk that far anyway. It was definitely a taxi that picked us up.

Trying to understand your pricing. We are going to Aruba later in the year.

Are you saying you paid $13 for a taxi there for 5, and $25 for a shared ride back for your group?

I seem to remember from arranging a tour last year, taxis were only allowed to take 5 people max (even if there were more seats), so did you mean the taxi dropped off one group and asked if you wanted to return?
