Any Pros and Cons of self assist bags disembarkation

The main 'con' is people who sign up for it and then can't manage their own bags. This then holds up the line.

Have done it on 4 different cruise lines and the instructions all say that you won't receive any help from staff.

If there is any doubt that you can't manage the luggage, would not do it.

Other than that, have never had a problem.

Agreed, last cruise had a few people struggling with their bags and complaining that the staff in the main hall wouldn't help. I thought that maybe they shouldn't have gone for self assist or shouldn't have packed so much.

The only thing I've done it was when we were in a hurry because we needed to get to Canberra before noon.

Worked a treat, but otherwise I'd just as soon let someone else cart my bag off.

One reason why I do it when disembarking in Sydney.
