bigchid Posted January 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2017 My lovely wife wants to make my favorite cake for my birthday, Princess flowerless chocolate cake. We have the Princess cook book, but it isn't in there. Can anyone help? Thanks advance!
Thrak Posted January 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Google it. You will find it. I see there is a recipe on Pinterest but I don't have an account so can't log it. There seem to be a few recipes you can find with Google.
Kartgv Posted January 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2017 I tried Googling it - the Pinterest site comes up but I don't have an account there and don't want to sign up. There is a Cruise Critic link that comes up, but the thread is from 2011 and I got the "Page not found" message when I tried to bring it up. Hopefully someone with a Pinterest account can copy it and load it here or find it in one of the Princess recipe books.

bigchid Posted January 12, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Thanks to all who responded. I did Google it and found one from CCL but have no idea if it's the same.
yuccaman Posted January 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Thanks to all who responded. I did Google it and found one from CCL but have no idea if it's the same. I have made the one at the following link many, many times, and it is just like the one on the ship. Just use good chocolate. Princess uses Guittard brand. Stay away from Hershey's, etc. In a pinch, I have used "Baker's" brand available at most supermarkets and have had great results with it, when I didn't have the time to seek better... but try to. http://thesabbaticalchef.blogspot.com/2011/09/la-bete-noire.html Guittard sales locations (look for "Baking Bars" on the site): https://www.guittard.com/where-to-buy The above recipe is the classic French recipe for the "Black Beast", the mother of all flourless chocolate tortes/cakes, in this case sourced from Williams-Sonoma.
