New to RCI and Brilliance of the Seas - favorite things please!!

Helipad, glass elevators and enclosed solarium. When I was on sister ship Radiance it still had the outdoor Windjammer seating, so another vote for that. Enjoy!

There is a helicopter pad on the front of deck 5. Great views when leaving port.

Even better views when going under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge around 6pm.

Beautiful artwork on that ship. It's in every stair well, on all the walls to the cabins, and in the centrum. Is this the ship with the glass flowers? Sorry I get this Radiance class mixed up, I choose them all the time. But if the Brilliance has the glass flowers on the Guest Services level, those are the flowers by the artist that made the ones in the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas. Gorgeous.

 

Take time on this ship to look at the art that is everywhere. Millions of dollars of art, better than you see in some galleries. You don't have to be an expert or even have knowledge. Just look at it. If you like some of it, spend more time looking at it. There is an immense amount of beautiful expensive art on the Brilliance.

 

I agree with this, too often we are running up and down the stairs to get somewhere and totally miss the artwork. We make a point on every cruise to look at all the artwork on each level.

The coffee shop on the sixth floor, I think. Overlooks the centrum, has great coffee for a fee and fantastic complimentary pastries. Few nice over sized chairs looking out at the water.

Anyone know if Brilliance has a Starbucks on the Promenade deck like Oasis? Can't wait to go on this ship, anyone know how warm it usually is on a March cruise? We have never cruised in March so not sure what type of clothes to pack for Cozumel and Grand Cayman?

There is no Royal Promenade on Brilliance.

 

There is a Cafe Latte-Tudes near the centrum. Not sure what kind of coffee beans they use in their specialty coffees.

It is. We went up there to avoid the Windjammer as well, but they didn't open until 12:30 or shortly thereafter that day.

Of course I'm late to this thread -- all my reasons for loving the Brilliance have already been posted.

 

My wife and I took our honeymoon on the Brilliance, and it remains our favourite ship to this day.

I'm not sure if its on the Brilliance, or RCI in general, but escargot every night is a huge win for me. I had it on Grandeur and Independence. Would have had it on Anthem, if it wasn't for the Dynamic dining. Apparently they had it every night in one of the restaurants.

 

 

I'd never tried the escargot on any ship (RCI, X and Azamara) until my recent Jewel of the Seas cruise. One night our waiter asked if anyone wanted an extra plate of escargot that the kitchen had sent out. I took it and they were amazing. Had it every night after as a first appetizer.

 

As for the topic, my favorite spot on the Jewel was Caffe Latte-tides. I liked to sit right between the café and Next Cruise desk. It was good placement because I eventually booked my next cruise in the same ship. I loved the Radiance class.

I was on Brilliance last week and the staff was absolutely fabulous! Everyone we encountered was exceptionally nice. I love the staff on most RCI ships but those on Brillance really stood out on this cruise.
