GottaKnowWhen Posted January 14, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 14, 2017 What, huh? You don't enjoy joining 2 or 3 thousand of your closest friends to watch someone carve up a hunk of ice? I wish you hadn't mentioned that. It brought to mind the bellyflop contests and other silliness around the pools that interferes with quiet enjoyment of a good read while lying in the sun... Good reasons I always elect to sit on the deck above the pool. Turn my lounger around to look out at the water and watch my day drift by. Hope I didn't traumatize you! :D I don't care for the sun, so I find a nice quiet place where people aren't hogging chairs. LOL. Good reasons I always elect to sit on the deck above the pool. Turn my lounger around to look out at the water and watch my day drift by. Good game plan! :D

navybankerteacher Posted January 14, 2017 #30 Share Posted January 14, 2017 If you know you have enjoyed a particular ship's size, layout, ambience, etc. why not return to her? In fact, with most new ships coming on being over-large, I expect that we will continue to repeat sailing the same ships: newer may be better - but not necessarily - and all the increasingly silly enticements which seem to appear on newer ships are good reason to avoid them.
