deborahjo Posted January 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2017 Is Carnival doing away with this wonderful food venue? I see up dates going on and no where do I see the Wok being added. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Cr2zCr8zy Posted January 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2017 On ships that have the JiJi's Asian restaurant, it turns into the Mongolian wok at lunch time. No charge of course... Sent from my SM-G900T using Forums mobile app
Micahs Grandad Posted January 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2017 Think it is still being offered. Have to get there at a good time or wait is long.
tree.critter Posted January 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2017 It has been here on the Magic with extended hours over what I remember in the past. Although there were lines it wasn't nearly as bad as on other cruises I've been on.
KPfromCT Posted January 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2017 I don't think Carnival would take this venue away. It is WAY too popular. The lines get CRAZY as the week goes on, but some of us "crazy" people wait in those lines because it's THAT good.:D

serene56 Posted January 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2017 Mongolian grill was only opened from 11:30 - 2:30 and closed promptly - even if there was a line waiting. On my sailings I go on embarkation day. Lines are not long yet since people tend to jump in the first line they see not realizing that the stations serve different food. But the line at the mongolian just grows and grows. Your best bet is to be there BEFORE they open
john91498 Posted January 13, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 13, 2017 It's no longer available on the Inspiration or Imagination. I believe Blue Iguana replaced it.
tea4ular Posted January 13, 2017 #11 Share Posted January 13, 2017 In our opinion it is worth the wait for freshly prepared, hot, and items chosen by us, food. We will patiently wait.
sfaaa Posted January 13, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 13, 2017 Crazy long lineup. Waited 40 minutes to get my food woked.

Typically a crewmember will get on the end of the line and tell people sorry we are closing.
gtonda Posted January 14, 2017 #15 Share Posted January 14, 2017 The Wok is being replaced on many ships with the new barbecue joint, which sadly is only open in sea days. Poor move in my opinion. Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted January 14, 2017 #19 Share Posted January 14, 2017 We must be lucky or alt-left or something. Mongolian Wok is my favorite and the only lines I've ever run into are staff, not guests. I always tell them not to spray the wok with that crappy spray can and the food tastes soooooooooo much better. Agree with all that the wok (and MDR) offer the best lunch on the ship. Being used to smashburger and WholeFoods burgers at lunch at home (better than fiveguys imho), I think the guys burgers on some ships are CRAP. I would rather eat salad than those pink slimy things. deborahjo Posted January 14, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted January 14, 2017 We were on the Conquest in October. The Wok was not there. The BBQ joint was up stairs were the fish and chips use to be. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Buckeye10640 Posted January 14, 2017 #21 Share Posted January 14, 2017 It was still on the Paradise in December. Husband waited in line 45 minutes for lunch.
Mary Ellen1 Posted January 14, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 14, 2017 I thought I'd read (on here!) that they were getting rid of it, simply because they can't put people through the line fast enough, and it just gets too backed up. Other food lines & food types are much more efficient from that standpoint. :( I LOOOOVE the MW, but I'm not willing to stand in line for it 30-45+ minutes. TheTravelista Posted January 14, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 14, 2017 This was posted a few weeks back in the Facebook group for my next Cruise. Sent from my SM-N920V using Forums mobile app The Mongolian Wok has been gone from the Conquest for a couple of years, when the ship first got 2.0 upgrades. It doesn't have anything to do with the BBQ which took the place of the Fish and Chips.
