We were in a S1 Sky Suite on Dec. 9. We also had Dragos as our butler. He was terrific. Ate every night in Luminae...best service ever. Food was good enough that we didn't use our 2 free nights in the specialty restaurant. Our server every night was Rosebud. He also was terrific. This was our 11th cruise on Celebrity and definitely not our last.

Wow, that's impressive. Thanks for your imput. That should make JABrown40 feel better about booking a suite and dining at Luminae.

Great to hear! Yes Dragos was superb wasn't he. Aha Rosebud! forgot his name. he was run off his feet, so busy poor guy.... but still had great attitude. Can't go wrong with the servers, and maybe it was the time I dined that I noticed a Reduction in force...... food is subjective I know, but I did enjoy many meals, maybe because I was dining alone I just wanted to eat and get out of there as felt a little awkward... lol still no complaints really.... love cruising, love the Solstice line ships and looking forward to my next trip in March. Lucky me.

Just got back after a very enjoyable week on Equinox. Having sailed on Silhouette I knew what to expect re layout etc and also had chosen same suite type with a corner aft... wonderful!

Pre-cruise, New Years Eve, and day, I stayed at the Renaissance on 17th st. Wouldn't stay there again.and the quietest, most boring NYE ever... it was like a ghost town area... very disappointing. The hotel staff were not too friendly either... asked if anything going on in the area, just answered No. that was it.. ok then.......the room was nice but view of a building site and new construction was not very inspiring....never mind... did enjoy a lovely lunch at Bimini Boatyard just a few steps away.

So sorry about your reaction to the Renaissance. We are staying there the night before our Feb 10 Equinox cruise.

We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard our last trip out of Lauderdale and while they did have a free shuttle to the port, breakfast was not included and the only thing in walking distance was a huge outdoor equipment store

The Ren looked like it would have more nearby.

Great review. I plan on doing some cruising alone since my DH dislikes it and can't seem to unplug from is Warcraft game long enough to enjoy a vacation.

When traveling alone do you have to pay double occupancy price for the cabin? A suite is a bit out of my range but I would love a balcony, I enjoy the quite when the deck is packed.

Hi, I travel solo all the time in a balcony cabin. You normally do have to pay the same amount as the cabin would cost for 2 people, but there are occasionally sales with a lower single supplement. I suggest you check out the Solo Cruisers board on this forum for lots of tips and info on solo cruising--many helpful folks there.
