Disembarkation to FLL Carribean Princess

As long as the ship is docking in Port Everglades, yes, because FLL is next to that port. If docking in Miami, is still doable but a lot farther away & if on a weekday, subject to a bit of traffic.

Princess does not sail out of Miami, only Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale.

Is an 11:30 am flight out of Fort Lauderdale airport reasonable if I get off in the first couple of disembarkation groups?

Yes, providing the cruise is a RT Ft. Lauderdale. Take the early walk off option and you can be at the airport by 8am or sooner, or request one of the early disembarkation times and you can be at the airport by 9am. Take a taxi, for about $15, avoid the Princess transfer which will delay you and cost more.

If the cruise is a Trans Atlantic or arriving from South America, immigration and Customs can be delayed.

About once every 5 years, princess has a ship sail from Miami.

Given the minutiae here, the poster was probably smart to

cover all posibilities.

P.S. depending on the berth, 'port everglades' may be in

ft. lauderdale, hollywood, or dania beach.

Most likely yes, unless there is a major delay with the ship arriving into port.

On our first cruise, on the Eurodam, the ship was about 2 hours late getting into port because it had been involved in a rescue of a sinking sailboat. There were lots of anxious people getting off, and lots of people grumbling about the long wait to check in and board.

  • 2 weeks later...

We just did this yesterday. Our flight was to take off at 11:33 AM. We decided to keep our luggage with us and walk off with it in the morning. Took the 8:15 selection and when we got down to the holding room at 8:00, were told they had already released all walk off groups! so we left the ship, grabbed a taxi and were at FLL in 15 minutes on a Saturday morning with 5 ships in port. With our tip, cost of the cab was $20. Had time for a coffee and some time on our iPads before the flight.
