Privatetours in Puerto Limon

Does anyone know if we can get tours on the dock in Puerto Limon (San Jose)? I am not interested in taking the HAL tours on hugh 50+ bus. Or are there private tours that you can recommend that would include the Tortuguero Canal or the rain forest. Thanks

One source of info can be the Roll Calls of your ship, sand itinerary, but earlier. People discuss their plans and tour companies.

they are a 3rd party booking site they do not run the tours but book with local companies which you can do on your own

I think that if I were choosing a private tour I would arrange it before arriving.

 

You can find information at the port of calls threads on this site as well as on tripadvisor.

 

It has been a while since we were there last, but one thing I did remember is that Costa Rica has a lot of earthquakes. Not necessarily bad in themselves, but the roads were really bad. I would be cautious on how far you venture from the cruise port (if not on a cruiseline tour) in case of mechanical breakdown. I guess I would only book privately if the reviews were very good.
