First Day

On the day of embarkation, when do the restaraunts and bars like Red Frog Pub and Blue Iguana open? I hear so much about hurrying to the buffet but don't hear anything about the others. Are they not open the first day?

I could be wrong, but the pub's and inside bars (Red frog pub, sports bar, casino, alchemy) are usually not open right upon boarding. They will be open later on in the day, but when you board between 12pm - 3pm your options are the lobby bar and all the pool bar. As far as food goes you'll have the buffet, guy's burgers, and blue iguana burritos/tacos if your ship has it.

The Red Frog Pub is definitely open as soon as you board the ship.

As a matter of fact, the first person/group there gets a free beer and their picture on John Heald's Facebook page.:D:D

ahh will explain the OP reference to hurry to get to the lido deck

(i couldnt imagine people hurrying to get food--LOL

I attest this is true as we have been first in Red Frog Pub on five out of seven cruises. :D

The Pub is not on Lido. Red Frog Bar is, the Red Frog Pub is inside usually on deck 5.

you pay tax on drinks while in port, no reason to ask. you will pay the appropriate sales tax for the state you are docked. If 30 cents is going to bother you, rethink your cruise. We did a B2B last week and the bars did not open until 11:30 or later. they have to close out the computers for the previous cruise. the ship at 10:30 is so eerie, 70 B2B guests and 1,000 crew and everything is closed
