Reflection Cabin Question

We are booked in cabins 2223 and 2214 but have read a few negative things about chair scraping and noise from the bar. Should I switch cabins? Any thoughts?

I always avoid choosing a room directly under a public area. You are beneath the outdoor ocean view bar and sitting area. The chair noise will be possible all day and into the evening as it's pretty popular. Now will it bother you? Depends if you are in your room taking a nap or heading to bed early or trying to sleep late. And if you are a light sleeper.

Early risers like to have their coffee up there. Some like to gather in groups there in the evening for drinks and laughs.

We haven't booked one of those rooms, ( avoiding soot) but have been in one while visiting our friends. I heard a little noise, but since I wasn't listening for and evaluating, can't say if it would bother my stay.

Like previous poster, I avoid cabins under most public areas. I am a very light sleeper and the scraping chairs keep me awake. It doesn't bother my husband at all. It just depends on your preferences.

 

Is it possible to move down a deck?

It's always best to have cabins above and cabins below. Years ago, we were on an RCI ship (I think it was the Freedom) and ended up below Bolero's. It wasn't awful - but we wouldn't do it again!

We are in 2208 and I had heard there would be a little noise, but I also read that it is very little and not that noticeable; however, we are in a corner S1 suite. We wanted the overhang for our TA. I am picky about my cabin selection, but love that cabin.

 

The cabin below has the spider..window washing equipment.

In 1984 we took our first cruise on the Carnival Celebration, now sailing as the Grand Celebration for Bahamas Vacation Cruises. I was talking to someone whose cabin was below the kitchen for the main dining room. The kitchen operated 24 hours a day. The person said it was terrible. I pulled up the current deck plan and those cabins are still there.

 

It appears more recent ships don't put staterooms below the kitchen, but they are below other public areas. We always avoid those! We also avoid cabins above public areas, especially lounges.
