VOOM on Independence

Can anyone confirm if Independence offers this service? Was last on Oasis and it was reliable but since Indy is a slightly older ship....Just want to be sure.

VOOM is on all RC ships. That's what RC calls their internet service, regardless of whether the ship is using the fast O3b service or the slower geosync service.

 

Indy is using the slower service.

I was on Indy in October and took out the VOOM one device package. Most of the time the internet speed was comparable with what I have at home (not on fibre) and ok

I was on Indy's last sailing and the VOOM service speed was...acceptable.

We tested it a few times by sending FB messages back and forth and also using FB Messenger to call back home. There was a longer delay than, say, on Carnival Conquest last October, but it was useable. Price was $12/day, $11/day for two devices. (Carnival's price was around $8 when purchased in advance for their middle tier.)

VOOM was passable for our January cruise on Indy. Was able to do some FB live from my phone on a couple of occasions during sailaways from ports
