OBC, Gift Cards and Carnival Mastercard Points

Hi - We are cruising in late April and have a few Carnival Gift Cards as well as on board credit and $100 in Carnival Fun Points.

 

My question is this - I want to be sure and use both the fun points and the OBC before the gift cards. Is there a way to apply the gift cards last or do I need to present them right away so the charges do not go to my credit card?

Carnival will automatically use OBC (which would include your "fun points") before hitting any other form of payment. You are good to go. They will use the gift cards before using a credit card, as well. If you wanted to, you could monitor your account and then go apply your gift cards when you are coming close to using up your OBC. IMO, though, just go ahead and apply them at the beginning.

Just keep checking your onboard account balance. You can always apply payments while on the cruise. If you do nothing, the balance on your account by the end of the last night will all be charged to the credit card you have on file. Don't wait until the last day of your cruise to apply a gift card to your account. You should also be able to tell them how much to apply to your account as opposed to transferring the full balance.
