I've been in a suite....and, no.

We were in a Haven Owner Suite on the Jade a couple of years ago, and YES, there were binoculars there for us to use.

And yet we complain that NCL's phone reps can't give a correct answer...:rolleyes:

Think it owners suites and above

Anytime we have had them they were not up to much

If you really want them bring your own

That is what my husband does, he purchased a pair of binoculars at the Photo Gallery shop on board during one of our previous cruises. Small in size and very lightweight, but still great quality and he is very happy with them. :)

That is nice if they provide a free pair.

Ask them what brand they will provide. If seeing the sights will be important and they provide some no-name or low end bino, you may want to consider buying your own pair.

If this is a one-off just for this cruise and will have limited use, take the freebie.

If seeing things on your cruise is more important than casual use, consider buying a bino.

Cabelas, Nikon, Vortex offer good binos around $150 and up. All can be bought online through various web sites.

Better binos such as Leica, Swarvoski cost much more but suited for folks that enjoy sporting event watching, bird watching etc.

Fixed focus are better than zoom binos IMHO.

Getting high magnification helps only in limited situations and the view can be unstable such as a 16x60 bino. They usually require a tripod for long term stable viewing.

To fit a human eye pupil the exit diameter closest to 5.0 is best i.e. 8x40 (divide objective of 40 by power of 8 to get result of 5.0)

Field of view is important over zoom. The higher the power the less the field of view.

Compact binos are handy but also limited for viewing.

Lots of web sites dedicated to bino discussions.

Enjoy your cruise!
