Half Moon Cay question.

Looking at pictures of HMC. Is there an actual dock that you park at and get off? I've never cruised before so I just assumed that was how it worked. If there isn't, how do you get off the ship?? And back on??

There is a dock. A dock for tenders. These are boats that ferry people between ship and shore. You will walk on and off the tender.

 

In most other ports the ship will dock.

The pictures Ive seen it looks like you could just jump right off and walk to shore, :o ha!

 

That makes me nervous, is it something a lot of people get sick on? I don't do well on small boats in the ocean. Its probably a very short time?

The tender to Half Moon Cay and Back is a short ride. The tenders themselves carry many passengers.

Neither ships nor tenders "park"...just so you know. They "dock". Only RCI's Labadee has a dock that a ship can pull up to. All the other "private islands" are tendered....they are HUGE ferry boats that carry 150-200 passengers at a time....
