lookin2cruise2017 Posted February 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Looking at pictures of HMC. Is there an actual dock that you park at and get off? I've never cruised before so I just assumed that was how it worked. If there isn't, how do you get off the ship?? And back on?? Rare broberts Posted February 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Swim :D There is a dock. A dock for tenders. These are boats that ferry people between ship and shore. You will walk on and off the tender. In most other ports the ship will dock.

That makes me nervous, is it something a lot of people get sick on? I don't do well on small boats in the ocean. Its probably a very short time? Thanks for your help! It looks absolutely gorgeous! lisajm Posted February 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2017 lookin2cruise2017, The tender to Half Moon Cay and Back is a short ride. The tenders themselves carry many passengers.
cb at sea Posted February 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Neither ships nor tenders "park"...just so you know. They "dock". Only RCI's Labadee has a dock that a ship can pull up to. All the other "private islands" are tendered....they are HUGE ferry boats that carry 150-200 passengers at a time....
