Hi all! I did a search, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I would love to hear and see all things Carnival Sunshine! We (myself, my husband, our 4 year old and 7 month old) plan to cruise on her in April, and I am looking for information and reviews from the past year or so.

I would love to see your review! Please include any information about your Sunshine cruise, pictures, videos and/or link to your review here!

We just got off the Sunshine this morning. It was our second cruise on her; 7 days in 2015 and 5 this time around. We LOVE the ship - everything about it. Her layout is a bit different and takes some getting used to, but otherwise she's amazing!

If you have any specific questions, just let me know. Here's a quick pro and con list:

Pros

Large beautiful well cared for ship

Lot's of dining options (Cucina del Capitano for lunch is fantastic!)

Huge Serentiy Deck

Carnival Hub App

Beautiful gym

Guy's Burgers and Fries

Great options for live music

Lots of stuff for the little ones to do

Amazing crew

Cons

Common areas can get crowded, especially on Sea Day

Comedy Club is very small in comparison to the ship size

Wifi is SLOW everywhere and not available in most parts of the ship

It's a lovely ship with perhaps the most impressive serenity area in the fleet. The comedy club is small so go very early, like 20 minutes at least, and the set up for the YTD MDR is weird, you have to check in by the smoky casino, then walk down two decks to enter. Other than that, she's great - pretty sweet waterslides. Here's a video as requested ;)

We just got home from leaving sunshine yesterday

Download hub app before arriving

Poolside Movie screen was broke but they did movies inside....kids didn't mind

We eat breakfast in Mdr.....no crowds :)

I still find the printed ship map best for finding my way around versus the hub app....they are at guest services desk. The map helps avoid the trouble spots where there is no thru access

Jiji's and Cucina are totally worth it imo

I wish every ship had a Red Frog Pub

The Serenity deck on there is great

The ropes course is fun but kinda scary if you're afraid of heights

The Havana bar is cool and has cuban coffee and some little cuban bites throughout the day

Overall its a cool ship

We just returned and had a great time! To be honest it was pretty crowded. Not sure if its like that all the time though. Go to Taste Bar for breakfast. (its a secret). The positives outweighed the negatives by far though.

Pros:

Sports court!

Food quality!

Service

Food choice venues

Ship D?cor (Beachy!)

Twister slides

Cons:

Promenade goes through smokey casino

Super crowded public areas

The rude beach yoga instructor who set up camp in front of our cabana! LOL..seriously, really?

The Sunshine is our favorite out of 8 great Carnival cruises. We are thrilled to be booked again for next March partly for the amazing Serenity area (yes I get up really early for great seats by the pool), and dinner at Cucina and JiJi's. There are many other things that we loved about our last cruise on her, but these surely stand out.

I was on the Sunshine for a B2B cruise in January. Feel free to check out my picture heavy review. I also posted videos at the end. I had a little bit of an issue posting pictures at first, but then I think everyone was able to see them by the second page or so. Enjoy! (Link in my signature).
