Withdrawing SBC from account

We don't want to take extra cash on our cruise and will have a lot of SBC available. Can we withdraw some from the casino? And how do we do that?

You can't do it directly. You can get a cash advance for a 3% fee at the front desk or casino, or you can use the "slot machine method". Charge money to your on-board account in a slot machine, play at least a few spins, then cash out. Then take your key card to the cage and cash out there.

Careful how many times you pull the slot handle. If you lose, it may be cheaper to pay the 3% fee at the front desk. :D

On the Zuiderdam last April, they would only allow a cash advance from the credit card. They would not issue it from our shipboard credit even for a 3% fee.

Since we play a small amount in the casino anyway, it is easy for us. When we sit down on a machine we request $50 - 100 to be put on the machine. We play our normal amount and then at the end of the day we go to the cashier and "cash out" our account.

 

Now, you should know that technically HAL does not allow most OBC (it depends on the source of the OBC) to be used for casino play. However, I have yet to see (or hear of) them enforcing this.
